    • Aledmys Díaz goes 0-for-3 against Angels
Aledmys Díaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Monday against the Angels.

Advice: The A’s got ridiculously lucky that someone took Jace Peterson off their hands last summer, so they’ll keep giving Díaz the occasional start in the hopes that lightning will strike twice. The 33-year-old Díaz is 3-for-27 since returning from a calf injury on May 28. He hit .229/.280/.337 last year in the first season of a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Rotoworld Today, 9:37 pm

    • Michael Lorenzen solid for five against Brewers
Michael Lorenzen yielded two runs in five-plus innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

Advice: Lorenzen and Freddy Peralta pitched to a stalemate in this one. Lorenzen struck out five and walked one while throwing 91 pitches. It’s the seventh straight start in which he’s allowed three runs or fewer, and while he didn’t go deep tonight, he’s completed six innings in five of those outing and 10 of 13 starts for the year. • Robert Jr. has double, two walks in loss Monday
Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Robert Jr. only has 91 at-bats this season, but he’s hitting .198 with a 35 percent strikeout percentage. For one of the most talked about potential trade pieces in baseball, he’s really had a rough season. Robert Jr.'s BABIP is only .217, which is well below his career .328 BABIP, but he still needs to cut his strikeouts. Maybe the two walks show that he’s seeing it better at the plate and he can start to turn his season around with a little more than a month before the trade deadline. Rotoworld Today, 8:20 pm

    • Brian Anderson out with bacterial infection
Brian Anderson wasn’t with the Braves for Monday’s game because of a lower body bacterial infection.

Advice: Anderson hasn’t had an at-bat since June 12, but until tonight, we imagine, that was simply because Brian Snitker hates using his bench players. If Anderson needs to go on the IL, the Braves figure to call up either Luke Williams or J.P. Martinez. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 pm

    • Renfroe hits seventh home run in win Monday
Hunter Renfroe went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Signs of life? Renfroe’s home run was his seventh of the year. He’s still only hitting .198 on the year with a .652 OPS. With the Royals optioning Nelson Velasquez to the minors, Renfroe has to understand it’s getting to be that time where he might not keep his job if his numbers don’t improve. Rotoworld Today, 7:54 pm

    • Donovan stays hot with three-hit game Monday
Brendan Donovan went 3-for-4 with an RBI against the Braves on Monday.

Advice: Donovan’s RBI single in the third inning off Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead. He now has a hit in eight consecutive games and 17 of his last 18 games. Donovan is 26-for-71 (.366) with four home runs and 14 RBI in his last 18 games. His season average is up to .269 with a .753 OPS and 39 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 7:30 pm

    • Burleson has another two-hit game Monday
Alec Burleson went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI against the Braves on Monday.

Advice: Burleson started the scoring with an RBI double in the third inning off Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach. He’s had at least two hits in four consecutive games and five of his last six games. He’s 11-for-24 (.458) with 10 runs scored, three home runs, nine RBI and a double over his last six games. Burleson is hitting .289 with a .798 OPS and 33 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:21 pm

    • Spencer Steer tallies two hits, three RBI in blowout
Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday in the Reds’ lopsided win over the Pirates.

Advice: It’s pretty remarkable that the Reds finished with 11 runs in this one considering they put three straight zeroes on the scoreboard to open the contest before Steer finally got Cincinnati on the board with a two-run double in the fourth inning. The versatile 26-year-old has five homers and one steal over his last 30 games and is up to nine homers and 12 thefts overall this season through 76 contests. Rotoworld Today, 7:19 pm

    • Bryan Reynolds pushes hit streak to 21 straight
Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 21 consecutive games on Monday in the Pirates’ loss to the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also drew a walk, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances in a one-sided affair. The 29-year-old outfielder is batting .315 (39-for-124) with seven homers and one steal over his last 30 games. Rotoworld Today, 7:18 pm
