    • Willy Adames reaches three times in win over Angels
Willy Adames went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks in the Brewers’ 2-0 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Adames drew walks in the first and third innings, then gave the Brewers an insurance run in the eighth with a base hit to drive in Christian Yelich from second base. After reaching three times on Wednesday, the 28-year-old ends the day slashing .240/.333/.430 with 12 homers, 52 RBI, and 10 steals across 321 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:06 pm

    • Struggles with command in loss
Gausman (5-6) took the loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Gausman allowed an unearned run in the third inning then surrendered solo home runs in the fourth and fifth. He was pulled after yielding an RBI single with two outs in the sixth and was charged with another run when an inherited runner scored on an RBI single off reliever Tim Mayza. Gausman generated only two swinging strikes on his splitter and has now allowed four or more earned runs in five of his 15 starts this season. He'll carry a 4.24 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 79:19 K:BB into a potential rematch with the Red Sox next week. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:52 pm

    • Pete Alonso homers in loss
Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday against the Rangers.

Advice: The Mets offense was finally held in check after a chaotically-successful week powered by a particular McDonalds’ universe character. Still, Alonso seems to be heating up with a four-game RBI streak. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:52 pm

    • Kevin Gausman unsteady in loss to Red Sox
Kevin Gausman allowed five runs - four earned - in 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Red Sox. He struck out four and walked three en route to a loss.

Advice: Gausman never looked comfortable in this one. He allowed his first run in the midst of a two-error inning and then labored until being pulled in the sixth inning. He threw far too many fastballs in the heart of the zone and couldn’t get the Red Sox to bite at his splitters. His 4.24 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 80 2/3 innings so far this season have been disappointing. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:12 pm

    • Homers Wednesday
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Gorman led off the second inning with a 436-foot blast off Yonny Chirinos, cutting St. Louis' deficit to 2-1. It's the first homer in seven games for Gorman, who'd gone just 1-for-28 in that span. Overall, the 24-year-old second baseman is slashing .202/.278/.437 with 16 homers, 34 RBI, 31 runs scored and three steals across 67 games this year. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:38 pm

    • Kyle Finnegan slams door on Diamondbacks in ninth
Kyle Finnegan slammed the door on the Diamondbacks in the ninth inning on Wednesday, retiring all three hitters that he faced to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Finnegan picked up his 21st save of the season for his efforts. The 32-year-old hurler made things look easy in this one, getting Joc Pederson on a ground ball to first and then striking out Eugenio Suarez and Gabriel Moreno to end it. While his job security was shaky heading into the season, Finnegan has been an absolute monster for fantasy managers this season, posting a 1.72 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and a 33/10 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings of work while converting 21 of his 23 save chances and chipping in two victories for good measure. • Heading to bench Wednesday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: With solid counting statistics (12 home runs, two stolen bases, 37 RBI and 28 runs) and a non-toxic batting average (.234), Jeffers has been one of the top fantasy catchers this season, but he's started to lose some of his shine in recent weeks. He's slashing just .153/.240/.259 overall since May 15, and his ongoing struggles at the dish have begun to cost him some playing time. He'll give way Wednesday to Christian Vazquez, who remains the Twins' No. 2 catcher but seems to have moved his way into more of a timeshare with Jeffers behind the dish. • Nolan Gorman swats solo homer in loss to Marlins
Nolan Gorman belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Gorman took Marlins starter Yonny Chirinos deep in the second inning for his 16th big fly of the season. It was his lone hit in four at-bats in a low-scoring affair down in Miami. The 24-year-old slugging second baseman is batting just .161 (12-for-70) since the start of July, but half of those hits have left the ballpark, which helps salvage some semblance of fantasy appeal. • Out of lineup Wednesday
Westburg (hip) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Westburg was forced from Tuesday's 4-2 loss with a bruised left hip following a collision on the infield with Yankees outfielder Juan Soto. He's considered day-to-day, and it's possible he'll be available off the bench for Wednesday's contest. Ramon Urias will fill in for Westburg at third base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:21 pm
