    • MRI reveals bone spur in Joe Musgrove’s elbow
      Joe Musgrove underwent an MRI that revealed a bone spur and contusion in his right elbow.

      Advice: Musgrove, who landed on the injured list last weekend with right elbow inflammation, received both a PRP and cortisone injections to address the issue and hopes to resume throwing in roughly two weeks. The 31-year-old righty told reporters arthroscopic surgery is possible if the issue doesn’t improve, but that’s not being considered as an option for now.       Musgrove has been diagnosed with a bone spur and a bone bruise in his right elbow, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Musgrove got PRP and cortisone injections with the hope of resuming throwing in two weeks. However, there is also the caveat that surgery will be required if healing does not occur. That leaves Musgrove's potential timeline to return to the mound unclear, though it would be surprising to see him back on the mound prior to the All-Star break based on this most recent news.       Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) has been cleared to resume baseball activities.

      Advice: Encarnacion-Strand has been on the shelf since early May due to a right wrist fracture. The biggest question for fantasy managers moving forward is whether his prodigious over-the-fence power will be adversely impacted. The 24-year-old slugger is going to need several weeks to ramp back up fully prior to returning to Cincinnati, but it’s possible he’s back before next month’s All-Star break.       Bryan Woo blanked the Athletics over six innings with six strikeouts in a 3-0 win for the Mariners on Thursday.

      Advice: Woo allowed just two hits without walking anyone. The right-hander has been spectacular since returning from the injured list, and the six scoreless frames lower his ERA to a miniscule 1.07 on the season. Woo has been able to take advantage of some poor lineups thus far, but there’s simply no denying these kinds of results. He should have no trouble against the White Sox next week.       Advice: Tatis was responsible for half of the Padres' hits and run production in the low-scoring game. The 25-year-old is on a heater with an 11-game hitting streak, during which he's batting .432 (19-for-44) with four extra-base hits. He's added 33 points to his batting average during the streak, and he's now at a .795 OPS with 10 home runs, six stolen bases, 32 RBI and 40 runs scored over 65 contests this season.
