    • Kyle Harrison (ankle) throwing bullpen on Tuesday
Kyle Harrison (ankle) will throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Harrison isn’t expected to require a minor league rehab assignment before returning to San Francisco’s starting rotation mix after suffering a right ankle sprain back in mid-June. It sounds like he could be back prior to the All-Star break, but that isn’t a lock. Rotoworld Today, 2:12 pm
    • Robbie Ray (elbow) to make rehab start Thursday
Robbie Ray (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start on Thursday for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Ray is progressing towards a midseason return to San Francisco’s starting rotation mix as he completes his rehabilitation from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 32-year-old southpaw is still capable of missing bats at a high level and is worthy of a speculative stash for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm

    • Recalled from Triple-A
The Athletics recalled Ferguson from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Advice: Ferguson was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on the final day of May after posting a 4.50 ERA over 10 innings for Oakland. In Las Vegas, the 30-year-old tallied a 3.49 ERA across 28.1 innings. As part of a corresponding move Tuesday, Sean Newcomb was designated for assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 2:08 pm
    • Set to throw off a slope
Stratton (triceps) is expected to throw off a slope in the coming days, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Tuesday.

Advice: Stratton has been limited to throwing on flat ground since hitting the IL on June 14, but he's feeling good enough to toss off a slope. It's unclear if he'll require a rehab assignment, Stratton still has several checkpoints to complete before being reinstated. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm

    • Casey Mize heading to IL with hamstring strain
Casey Mize (hamstring) will require a trip to the injured list.

Advice: Mize will officially land on the injured list at some point this week due to a left hamstring strain. No word yet on the severity of the issue, but the 27-year-old righty figures to be shelved until after the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Timeline pushed back
Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Tuesday that the club will wait to send Gray (elbow) for an MRI until around the All-Star break, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: The right-hander experienced elbow discomfort and more fatigue than normal during his rehab start with Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, and it appears he'll be shut down from throwing for at least the next couple weeks. Gray was in the latter stages of the rehab assignment and was soon expected to rejoin the Nationals, so it's a big blow for both him and the rotation. Depending on when he's actually sent for imaging, Gray shouldn't be expected back until at least sometime in August. Rotowire.com Today, 2:03 pm

    • Jack Flaherty not starting Wednesday vs. Twins
Jack Flaherty will not make his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Twins due to an ongoing back issue.

Advice: Flaherty remained back in Los Angeles following last Thursday’s lackluster start against the Angels where he allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings to receive a pain-reducing injection in his back. The 28-year-old righty, who has been excellent this season in his Detroit debut, is expected to take the ball next week against the Twins. It doesn’t sound like he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but back issues can be complicated matters and could certainly impact his on-field performance moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 2:02 pm
    • Throwing bullpen sessions
Topa (knee) will throw two bullpen sessions this week, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: Topa has been out all season with a small tear in the patellar tendon of his left knee, but he seems to be inching closer to a return. The reliever will need to face hitters and make a handful of rehab appearances before a clear return date can come into focus. Rotowire.com Today, 2:01 pm

    • O’s ink Vinny Nittoli to minor league contract
Orioles signed RHP Vinny Nittoli to a minor league contract.

Advice: The rambling man is on the move again. It didn’t take Nittoli long to find a new opportunity following an extremely brief stint last week with the Cubs that lasted roughly 24 hours. The 33-year-old righty looked sharp earlier this season in seven relief outings for the Athletics and figures to get a look in Baltimore in short order. Rotoworld Today, 1:56 pm
