• Sharp against Bucs on Wednesday
Severino (2-1) picked up the win Wednesday in a 9-1 victory over the Pirates, allowing one unearned run on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Henry Davis reached base to lead off the third inning on a catcher's interference call against Francisco Alvarez and came around to score, but that was the only damage on Severino's line. The right-hander produced his first quality start of the season on 96 pitches (61 strikes), and his 2.14 ERA comes with a 21:9 K:BB through four outings and 21 innings. Severino will take the mound next on the road early next week in San Francisco. Rotowire.com 1 minute ago

  • Outdueled in Wednesday's loss
Falter (1-1) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings as the Pirates fell 9-1 to the Mets. He struck out four.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw served up a two-run homer to Starling Marte in the third inning, but he otherwise shut New York down over 73 pitches (47 strikes). Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, Luis Severino was a little bit better for the home squad. Falter has been tagged for only three runs over his last three starts and 16 innings, lowering his ERA to 4.05, but his 10:5 K:BB through 20 frames on the year highlights his limited fantasy ceiling. He lines up to make his next start at home early next week against the Brewers. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Returns to minors
The White Sox returned Shuster to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Advice: Shuster did not make an appearance during Wednesday's doubleheader against Kansas City, and he'll now head back to the minors after being promoted as the 27th man. The 25-year-old lefty owns a 1.42 ERA through 6.1 big-league innings this season but has run into trouble since being demoted to Charlotte. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Brandon Drury held out of lineup again Wednesday
Brandon Drury (hamstring) was held out of the Angels’ starting lineup once again on Wednesday.

Advice: Angels’ skipper Ron Washington told reporters that Drury won’t start on Thursday either and will be limited to pinch-hitting duties, as they’re trying to protect his hamstring injury from the turf at Tropicana Field. Look for Luis Rengifo to continue to cover second base in his absence. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

  • Tyler O’Neill (concussion) may not return Thursday
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora noted Wednesday that Tyler O’Neill (concussion) may not return to the lineup on Thursday.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder is doing okay according to Cora, and while he has passed all of his concussion tests, he has yet to do any baseball activities. It’s possible that he could wake up on Thursday feeling great, have a good workout and talk his way into the lineup, but it sounds like he may wind up missing another couple of games. It’s a situation that fantasy managers should continue to monitor. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago

  • Stuck with loss in debut
Knack (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings.

Advice: Knack got off to a rocky start, allowing hits to the first three Nats he faced, including a lead-off homer to CJ Abrams. However, the 26-year-old right-hander settled in nicely, blanking Washington over his subsequent four frames while allowing just one additional hit. While the Dodgers failed to provide enough support to get Knack off the hook, it was an encouraging outing overall. Knack was solid last year in 22 starts between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City, pitching to a 2.51 ERA with 99 strikeouts over 100.1 innings. If the Dodgers stick with a six-man rotation and keep Knack in the majors, he'd line up for a road matchup with the Blue Jays in his next start. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

  • Up to seven saves
Finnegan earned the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Dodgers, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan's now gone seven appearances (6.2 innings) without allowing an earned run. He's up to seven saves on the year, tying Ryan Helsley and Clay Holmes for the league lead. The 32-year-old Finnegan lowered his ERA to 3.24 with a 1.32 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB through his first 8.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 4:55 pm
  • Gavin Sheets goes yard in win over Royals
Gavin Sheets went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in a 2-1 win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Sheets has cooled off over the last several days after a hot start at the plate. He went a collective 1-for-7 in Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Royals. His one hit cleared the fences in the second game as he took Michael Wacha deep for a solo homer to lead off the sixth inning. The 27-year-old is up to three homers and nine RBI while slashing .250/.370/.545 over 54 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:53 pm

  • John Means struggles in rehab start on Wednesday
John Means had another rough minor league rehab start at Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, giving up five runs on five hits in just 1/3 of an inning.

Advice: Yikes. Means also issued a walk and didn’t strike out a batter in the ballgame. He served up a pair of home runs in the outing — to Jonah Bride and Victor Mesa Jr. The 30-year-old southpaw wound up throwing only 34 pitches in the outing, 19 of those for strikes. It seems likely that he’ll need at least one additional rehab start before he’s ready to join the O’s rotation. Rotoworld Today, 4:52 pm
