      Shohei Ohtani belted his 26th home run of the season on Saturday night, helping to power the Dodgers past the Giants in extra innings.

      Advice: The 29-year-old superstar victimized right-hander Spencer Howard in the third inning for his 412-foot (109.7 mph EV) solo shot that briefly gave the Dodgers a 2-1 advantage. He also drew a pair of walks and struck out twice in the contest, finishing the evening 1-for-4. One of those walks was intentional in the 11th inning, where he then raced around to score on a two-run double off the bat of Will Smith.       Muncy (oblique) took swings off a tee, fielded groundballs and did some throwing Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Muncy's progress from a Grade 1 right oblique strain has been slow to the extent that he was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 21. However, the third baseman appears to be beginning to ramp up, and the Associated Press reports that his next step will be to take live batting practice before potentially beginning a rehab assignment.       Advice: The 27-year-old slugger consistently got himself into scoring position, but the rest of the Houston lineup had trouble bringing him around. Since missing a couple games earlier in the month to attend to a personal matter, Alvarez has gone 9-for-27 (.333) in seven contests with three doubles, two homers, four RBI and five runs.
