    • Tobias Myers dominates again in win over Padres
      Tobias Myers picked up his fourth consecutive victory on Sunday, limiting the Padres to just one run on five hits over his five innings of work.

      Advice: The 25-year-old hurler struck out three batters on the afternoon and didn’t issue a free pass. The lone tally against him came on a two-out RBI single by Luis Arraez in the fifth inning, then Myers punched out Jurickson Profar to end that threat. He got seven swings and misses on 78 pitches in the ballgame, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.12 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 45/16 K/BB ratio (52 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Cubs in Milwaukee.     • Nestor Cortes takes tough luck no decision
      Nestor Cortes allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.

      Advice: Cortes also struck out seven and walked nobody on the day. At times, he looked more electric than Max Fried, and it was Cortes who had more whiffs, getting 17 swings and misses on 49 swings for a 35 percent whiff rate and 36 percent CSW. Unfortunately, he allowed a solo home run to Jarred Kelenic and got himself into trouble in the fifth innings on three hits and a sac fly.     • Takes loss despite quality start
      Cortes (4-6) was saddled with the loss Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits over seven innings against Atlanta. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Cortes mostly held the Atlanta bats in check to put together his third consecutive quality start and the ninth time this season he's struck out six or more batters, but the Yankees failed to provide any run support and Cortes was left with his sixth loss. Outside of a solo home run by Jarred Kelenic in the third, Cortes' only real trouble came in the fifth, when he allowed two runs on three hits. However, he finished his day strong by retiring all six batters faced in the sixth and seventh. Cortes has tossed 100.2 innings across 17 starts, accumulating 93 strikeouts. He'll take a 3.40 ERA and 1.07 WHIP into his next start, scheduled to take place when the Yankees head to Toronto for a four-game weekend set against the division-rival Blue Jays.     • Nestor Cortes strikes out seven Braves in loss
      Nestor Cortes allowed three earned runs across seven innings Sunday against the Braves. He struck out seven and walked none as a tough-luck loser.

      Advice: Cortes was great Sunday, Max Fried was just better. Jarred Kelenic burned him for a short-porch home run early and then the bottom of the Braves’ lineup rallied in the fifth inning. Otherwise, Cortes was dotting his cutter on the edges all afternoon and kept the Braves’ big bats at bay. He’s had a fantastic season thus far with a 3.40 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 100 2/3 innings.     • Jack Flaherty to have next start pushed back
      Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters Sunday that Jack Flaherty will have his next start pushed back.

      Advice: Flaherty was excellent on Friday in a win over the White Sox and the Tigers simply want to give him some extra rest before taking the ball again since he’s been pitching through a lingering back issue. The 28-year-old righty was slated to take the ball during Wednesday’s series finale against the Phillies, but is going to get at least one additional rest day instead.       Stroman (7-3) allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 6.2 innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Saturday.

      Advice: Stroman was sharp in his first quality start across four outings in June. He gave up a solo home run to Marcell Ozuna in the first inning and a two-run blast to Travis d'Arnaud in the seventh. Stroman has walked multiple batters in five straight starts, which has led to some recent inconsistency. He's at a 3.15 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and 67:40 K:BB through 91.1 innings over 16 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at Toronto.       Blanco (8-2) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Saturday.

      Advice: Blanco wasn't as dominant as he was with seven no-hit innings last weekend versus the Tigers, but it was still an impressive showing. He's allowed just two runs over 20 innings across his last three starts after giving up four runs in each of his two outings before this stretch of dominance. The right-hander continues to thrive in his first full year as a starter, pitching to a 2.34 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 79:35 K:BB through 84.2 innings over 14 starts.       Marcus Stroman picked up his seventh victory of the season on Saturday night, limiting the Braves to three runs on just three hits over his 6 2/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Stroman piled up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of walks. The 33-year-old hurler had allowed just one run through his first six innings of work, but he returned for the seventh where he served up a two-run blast to Travis d’Arnaud before exiting. Stroman got 12 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. Now 7-3 on the season, he’ll tote a 3.15 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 67/40 K/BB ratio (91 1/3 innings) into Friday’s battle against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:24 pm

      Ronel Blanco allowed one run in seven innings to get a win Saturday over the Orioles.

      Advice: Blanco gave up a homer to Jordan Westburg in the second inning, but it was smooth sailing for the right-hander from that point on. He did put three runners on via walk, but he was able to strike out four and limited the loaded Baltimore lineup at an impressive level.
