    • Colin Rea blanks Rockies over seven innings in win
Colin Rea tossed seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Rea made his most impressive start of the season on Wednesday, holding the Rockies scoreless in Colorado across seven frames. He scattered six hits and struck out four batters with no walks, tossing 67-of-97 pitches for strikes. The 34-year-old right-hander will take a 3.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 66/28 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Milwaukee on Tuesday. • José Alvarado silences Cubs to net 13th save
José Alvarado fired a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cubs to record his 13th save of the season.

Advice: Alvarado was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning at Wrigley Field and managed to work around a one-out single by David Bote to preserve the victory. The 29-year-old lefty has converted 13 of his 15 save opportunities this season for Philadelphia. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:53 pm
    • Zack Wheeler whiffs seven in no-decision vs. Cubs
Zack Wheeler recorded seven strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Advice: Wheeler gave up only five hits with a pair of run-scoring doubles from Cubs rookie Pete Crow-Armstrong accounting for all of the damage against him across six frames. He induced 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. The 34-year-old fantasy ace has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 15 of his 18 starts so far this season. He’ll bring a stellar 2.74 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 119/33 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a challenging home matchup against the Dodgers in his penultimate outing prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Shota Imanaga strikes out eight in no-decision
Shota Imanaga struck out eight and yielded three runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Imanaga was cruising along early before giving up a solo homer to Phillies backstop Rafael Marchán in the third inning and a two-run blast to All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm in his final frame of work. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. He’ll carry a sparkling 3.16 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 92/15 K/BB ratio across 91 innings (16 starts) into a tough road tilt against the Orioles on Tuesday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • Andrew Abbott goes 6 1/3 to get win over Yankees
Andrew Abbott gave up one run over 6 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a win over the Yankees.

Advice: Abbott finished with only two strikeouts, and also handed out four free passes, but managed to avoid any serious damage as a two-run double by Anthony Volpe in the seventh inning accounted for all of the damage against him in Yankee Stadium’s hitter-friendly environment. He’ll carry a solid 3.28 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 74/36 K/BB ratio across 96 innings (17 starts) into a home outing on Monday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:08 pm
    • Chris Sale’s dominance continues against Giants
Chris Sale struck out nine batters across six innings in a 3-1 win over the Giants on Wednesday while allowing just one run. He walked two batters and earned his league-leading 11th win of the season.

Advice: Once again, Sale was magnificent in this start. The Giants were helpless against his vaunted slider as it earned five swings-and-misses and an additional 12 called strikes. He was ahead in the count all night and showed a willingness to use that slider in whatever count he needed it. His 11th win tied Seth Lugo for the league lead and he could be well on his way to his first Cy Young award at 35-years-old. What a remarkable season it’s been for Sale. • Raisel Iglesias earns 21st save of the season
Raisel Iglesias allowed a hit and struck out a batter on Wednesday to nail down the save against the Giants.

Advice: Iglesias continues to stymie the opposition despite not putting up the same gaudy strikeout totals as his other late-inning relief counterparts. His 21 saves are fourth most in the league while both his 2.27 ERA and 0.88 WHIP are lights out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:01 pm
    • Jordan Hicks solid, loses touch in fifth inning
Jordan Hicks allowed three earned runs across five innings on Wednesday against the Braves. He allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out six in defeat.

Advice: Four of the eight hits the Braves got off Hicks came with two outs in that fifth inning when the lineup turned over for a third time. The inning could have been worse if Austin Riley hadn’t been thrown out at the plate. Still, it was nice to see Hicks’ sweeper induce 10 swings-and-misses as he leaned on that pitch instead of his splitter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:58 pm

    • Starting Thursday
Shuster will start Thursday's game against the Guardians, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Shuster has appeared in 17 games for the White Sox this season, posting a 3.15 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 34.1 innings, but Thursday will mark his first start of the year. The 25-year-old southpaw worked almost exclusively as a starter throughout his professional career before joining the White Sox in the offseason, so he should be able to pitch well into Thursday's game before Chicago turns to its bullpen.
