    • Logan Webb strikes out six in loss to Yankees
      Logan Webb gave up four runs over seven innings on Saturday in a loss to the Yankees.

      Advice: Webb fell behind right away in this one when he served up a colossal two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening frame. He was tagged for a pair of additional runs in the third inning, but managed to escape further damage, and wound up still completing seven frames to spare San Francisco’s bullpen. He struck out six and only handed out one free pass. The 27-year-old workhorse will carry a strong 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rangers.     • Records steal in win
      Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Ohtani had gone seven games without a steal, and he hit just .167 (5-for-30) over that span. That's a rare cold spell for one of baseball's best players, who continues to do it all out of the No. 2 hole for the Dodgers.     • Secures seventh save
      Neris earned a save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one inning.

      Advice: Neris gave up a one-out single in the ninth inning but was able to wrap up his seventh save. The right-hander had allowed a run in each of his previous two outings, so this was a promising frame for him. The save was his first since May 4. Only one other Cubs pitcher picked up a save during that time -- and that was in an extra-inning game -- so Neris' role as the team's closer remains solid. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:11 pm

      Webb (4-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Yankees.

      Advice: Webb gave up a pair of runs in the first and third innings, but he was able to eat innings despite the loss. He threw 74 of 108 pitches for strikes, though this ended his run of four straight quality starts. Webb is at a 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67:20 K:BB over 79.1 innings across 13 starts this season. After posting a 1.3 BB/9 last year, his walk rate has risen to 2.3 this year, which is in line with previous seasons. Webb is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers.     • Neris picks up seventh save Saturday
      Hector Neris tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: The save was Neris’ seventh of the season. No one is going to confuse Neris with a shutdown closer. Even with the two strikeouts and no walks on Saturday, he has a SO:BB of 18:15 in 21 innings this season. Neris’ ERA is 3.00 but his xFIP is 5.10. He’s valuable in fantasy as long as he’s getting saves for the Cubs, but he’s shaky and that could catch up to him sooner rather than later. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:39 pm
       
    • Sent down after poor start
      Detmers (3-6) took the loss Saturday against the Mariners, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks with three K's in 3.2 innings. He was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake after the start.

      Advice: Detmers started the season as one of the Angels' top starters and garnered wins in each of his first three starts, striking out 26 batters with two runs allowed across 17.1 innings. However, he hasn't gotten in the win column since and has yielded at least three runs in eight straight starts. Outside of a decent 8.9 K/9 across 40.1 innings, nothing has been working for Detmers lately, allowing 10 long balls and 20 walks over that stretch. The 24-year-old was a reliable arm for Los Angeles the past two seasons and it's possible that a Triple-A stint will help the southpaw regain some confidence and find his previous form.       Angels optioned LHP Reid Detmers to Triple-A Salt Lake.

      Advice: The 24-year-old southpaw was hit hard again in Saturday’s loss to the Mariners — giving up five runs over 3 2/3 innings — and that was apparently the last straw. Detmers has posted a miserable 6.14 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a 70/27 K/BB ratio over 63 innings through 12 starts on the season. He’ll work to refine his craft at the Triple-A level before hopefully rejoining the Angels’ rotation later in the season.       Reid Detmers allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Mariners on Saturday.

      Advice: Detmers gave up four hits, walked four and struck out three. He continues to struggle as he’s now allowed at least four runs in seven of his last eight starts. Detmers hasn’t won a game since winning his first three starts of the season. His ERA is now the worst it’s been all year at 6.14.     • Corey Seager reaches four times in rout of Marlins
      Corey Seager went 3-for-5 with a walk in a win for the Rangers over the Marlins on Saturday.

      Advice: Seager doubled, singled twice and got on via the aforementioned free pass for a four-reach day. The 30-year-old now has a 14-game hitting streak, and a line of .235/.314/.333 has improved to .270/.362/.485 during that streak. The struggles are over, folks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:10 pm
