Advice: Nakajima is batting just .250 with a .313 on-base percentage at Triple-A Sacramento, but he's made strides defensively and has also showed he can play second and third base. His role with the big club figures to be limited.

Advice: Descalso's slam followed an intentional walk to Jon Jay. Descalso entered the game with an ugly .197/.265/.289 line, and he probably wouldn't have been in the lineup if not for David Freese's thumb injury. The home run was his seventh in 813 major league at-bats.

Advice: It might not have been a good thing that Gordon homered twice in his first week back in the majors; he's gone just 2-for-25 since his second bomb on May 11. Gordon has terrific fantasy upside with his speed, but he needs to do much better than this if he hopes to push Hanley Ramirez to third base.

Advice: All four hits came off Matt Harvey, a guy who has already had four starts this season in which he's given up fewer than four hits total. It was also Cozart's first ever four-hit game. He entered the day with a .206 average and a horrific .232 OBP in 165 at-bats this season.

Advice: Schoop will meet with another doctor later this week for a second opinion, but it seems doubtful that the diagnosis will change. The 21-year-old infielder was batting .268/.331/.386 with three homers and 18 RBI in 34 games at the Triple-A level. It is no longer a certainty that he will reach the major leagues this season.

Advice: We can hardly blame Hechavarria for not getting a hit against Cliff Lee, but his 0-for-4's have hardly been a rare occurrence. The slick-fielding shortstop had a seven-RBI game earlier this month shortly after returning from the disabled list, but his offense has pretty much been non-existent otherwise.

Advice: If his slash numbers hold, Herrera will finish with the best offensive season of his career, topping the .694 OPS he mustered in 2010. Unfortunately, the utility infielder has scuffled in the field recently, recording three errors in his last 12 games.

Advice: Davis doesn't come as a big surprise given his miserable slump, but Tejada has also been a major disappointment while Valdespin hasn't produced enough to be worth the distraction his presence causes on the roster. The Mets still see Davis and Tejada as potential long-term pieces, so any decision will be made with careful consideration about their development.

Advice: Iglesias' defense at shortstop is by far his best asset, but the Red Sox want him to be prepared if he's needed in a utility role at some point. "He's a shortstop," Pawtucket manager Gary DiSarcina said. "He's going to be a major-league shortstop. But the goal is just to give him a tool -- not just for himself, but for the organization."

Advice: Dozier started off well after replacing Aaron Hicks in the leadoff spot, but now he's hitting .154 with two walks in 52 at-bats this month. The Twins should consider sending him down, but none of their minor league options are better bets.
