    • Alex Kirilloff set to see back specialst
      Alex Kirilloff, now on the major league IL, said the Twins knew about his back problem before sending him down last week and that he had an MRI back on May 26.

      Advice: This definitely wasn’t a case of a player hiding an injury and admitting to it after getting sent down; Kirilloff had been receiving daily treatment before games. Still, the Twins were upset that Kirilloff didn’t communicate of the severity of the problem, which he says has made it difficult for him to rotate on swings. Kirilloff wanted to keep playing through it in the majors, but after he was sent down to Triple-A, he decided it was better to shut it down for a spell, and he’s now set to see a back specialist.       Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.

      Advice: Arozarena went 32 days between homers, but has now launched two long balls in his last three games. On Tuesday, Arozarena tagged Pablo Lopez for a three-run home run in the first inning, plating Brandon Lowe and Isaac Paredes.       Marte went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-0 win over Washington.

      Advice: Marte got it started early with a two-run home run in the first inning. He later plated a run on a sacrifice fly. While he's had a good season to date -- one that's generating All-Star buzz from Arizona Sports -- Marte can be even more productive if Corbin Carroll's bat stays hot ahead of him in the lineup. Carroll's batting .340 over the last 12 games, and Marte has driven in 10 runs during that stretch. For the season, Marte has an .863 OPS, 15 home runs, 42 RBI, three steals and 50 runs scored.       Randy Arozarena hit a three-run homer on Tuesday in the Rays’ loss to the Twins.

      Yelich went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Yelich opened the scoring with a first-inning homer, his first long ball since May 29. Power's been the only thing missing for the veteran outfielder in June -- he's batting .322 (19-for-59) this month, but with just two extra-base hits and five RBI over 16 contests. For the year, Yelich is slashing .324/.400/.506 with seven homers, 32 RBI, 25 runs scored and 14 stolen bases over 200 plate appearances in what's shaping up to be his best campaign since 2019.       Lodolo (8-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Pirates, allowing a run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: A Ke'Bryan Hayes homer in the seventh inning was the lone mark against Lodolo on Tuesday as he earned his fifth straight win -- the left-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start during that span. Overall, Lodolo's ERA is down to 2.76 on the year with a 1.01 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB across 65.1 innings.       Nick Lodolo allowed one run on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: The left-hander struck out eight and didn’t walk a single batter on the day. He got 18 whiffs on 50 swings for a 36 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW on the day. He did a good job keeping his fastball upstairs and the curve low in the zone, which led to a 57 percent whiff rate on the curve alone. Lodolo has always showcased high upside but injuries have gotten in his way; yet, he now has a 2.76 ERA on the year with a good start against these same Pirates next week.       Ketel Marte went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Marte hit a 434-foot shot off Jake Irvin in the top of the first to give the Diamondbacks an early 2-0 lead. It was Marte’s 15 homer of the season and marks his third-straight game with an RBI. He would later bring home Corbin Carroll on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. The veteran second baseman has bounced back nicely from a down May in which he hit .216 and is now slashing .360/.468/.640 in the month of June with five home runs and 13 RBI.       Yordan Alvarez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox due to a family matter.

      Advice: The positive news here for fantasy managers is that Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Alvarez could return as early as Wednesday. The 26-year-old slugger, who boasts a stellar .873 OPS with 14 homers and a career-high three steals this season through 71 games, is getting his first off day since May 18.
