      Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Wednesday that Williams (back) could return from the 60-day injured list sooner than his initial mid-to-late-July recovery timeline, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Williams was scheduled for a bullpen session Wednesday, which would have marked his first time throwing off a mound since being shut down during spring training with multiple stress fractures in his back. He will need to throw off the bump multiple times and eventually go out on a rehab assignment before being activated.       Advice: Jung was examined Tuesday in Phoenix by the doctor that performed his right wrist surgery. While the third baseman has had his activation from the 60-day injured list pushed back a bit due to inflammation in the wrist, he's been told everything is sound structurally. Jung's return has effectively been ruled out through the weekend, but it's possible he's back shortly after that. More should be known regarding a potential timetable in the coming days.       Greene (5-3) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering six runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings as the Reds fell 9-5 to the Pirates. He struck out five.

      Advice: Aggressive baserunning helped Pittsburgh score three times in the first inning before adding three more in the third, and Cincy was never able to climb out of the hole. The loss was Greene's first since April 22 -- over the 10 starts in between, he'd posted a sharp 2.80 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 62:26 K:BB through 61 innings.       Hunter Greene allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: The game started with Greene throwing up on the mound after delivering a first-inning fastball and it didn’t get much better from there. He struck out five and walked two and his velocity was fine on the day, but he clearly wasn’t feeling 100 percent. He posted a solid 27 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW, but the command wasn’t great and the Pirates were able to scratch out their runs on just one extra-base hit.       Lopez won't face the Cardinals on Tuesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
