    • Lively allows two runs, gets seventh win Saturday
Ben Lively allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings and got the win in the Guardians’ 6-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Lively gave up three hits, walked two and struck out four. He’s now won five of his last seven starts and has seven wins overall on the season. His ERA is 3.03. Not bad for a waiver wire pickup. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road next weekend.

    • Set for first career start
The Marlins plan to call up Tyler from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Sunday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tyler will make a spot start Sunday in place of Braxton Garrett, who was scratched from his start this weekend with left elbow discomfort. Tyler's only appearance this season with Miami came April 26, when he allowed run on one hit across two innings before being designated for assignment. He cleared waivers and remained in the organization as a full-time member of the rotation at Jacksonville, with whom he's accrued a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 29:16 K:BB in 40 innings since the beginning of May. • Shaun Anderson gives up six in spot start vs. M’s
Shaun Anderson gave up six runs in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Anderson gave up nine hits without issuing a walk and striking out three. He pitched a clean second frame, but he gave up two in the first and another four in the third before leaving. The right-hander has an ERA of 12.46 in his limited action, so even if he gets another start, fantasy managers should look almost literally anywhere else before considering him as a streamer. • Ronel Blanco holds O’s to one run over seven
Ronel Blanco allowed one run in seven innings to get a win Saturday over the Orioles.

Advice: Blanco gave up a homer to Jordan Westburg in the second inning, but it was smooth sailing for the right-hander from that point on. He did put three runners on via walk, but he was able to strike out four and limited the loaded Baltimore lineup at an impressive level. Blanco has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Astros in 2024, and he’ll take a 2.34 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets next weekend. Rotoworld Today, 3:29 pm

    • Aroldis Chapman picks up second save of 2024
Aroldis Chapman picked up a save against the Rays on Saturday despite allowing a run in his inning of work.

Advice: It’s just the second save of the season for Chapman. The 36-year-old southpaw allowed an RBI double to Yandy Diaz, but it came with the Pirates holding a two-run cushion. Chapman isn’t likely to see many save chances as long as he’s behind David Bednar. Rotoworld Today, 3:16 pm
    • Jordan Hicks coughs up two homers vs. Cardinals
Jordan Hicks was lit up for five runs over four innings on Saturday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Hicks was hit extremely hard by his former organization on Saturday afternoon in his return to Busch Stadium as he surrendered six hits, including homers to Paul Goldschmidt and Alec Burleson, which accounted for all of the damage against him. He finished with only one strikeout and also handed out a trio of free passes. The only positive here is that he surpassed his previous career-high single-season mark of 77 2/3 innings, which he set back in 2018, in this one. He’ll bring a solid 3.24 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 69/31 K/BB ratio across 80 2/3 innings (16 starts) into a home outing on Thursday against the Cubs. Rotoworld Today, 2:01 pm

    • Chase Silseth gets hit hard in third rehab start
Chase Silseth (elbow) was hit hard in his third minor league rehab start at Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, giving up five runs on eight hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander also issued three walks while striking out a pair in the ballgame. He has been abysmal through three starts at the Triple-A level this season, posting a 10.22 ERA, 2.43 WHIP and a 9/11 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings. He did get up to 92 pitches (56 strikes) in the outing though and with the recent injuries to Jose Soriano and Patrick Sandoval, the Angels may have no choice but to bring Silseth up and roll him out at some point next week. • Rockies designate Geoff Hartlieb for assignment
Rockies designated RHP Geoff Hartlieb for assignment.

Advice: Hartlieb has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster after allowing 10 runs (nine earned) with a 7/4 K/BB ratio over nine innings of work (five appearances) this season for the Rockies. The 30-year-old righty will almost certainly pass through waivers unclaimed. Rotoworld Today, 12:57 pm
    • DFA'd by Colorado
The Rockies designated Hartlieb for assignment Saturday.

Advice: After having his contract selected June 8, Hartlieb appeared in five games for the Rockies, registering a 9.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over nine innings. The move corresponds with Colorado selecting the contract of Austin Kitchen from Triple-A Albuquerque. Rotowire.com Today, 12:57 pm
