    Carlos Correa clubbed a two-run homer on Monday in the Twins’ blowout loss to the Nationals.

    Advice: Correa walloped a two-run shot off Nationals starter Mitchell Parker in the sixth inning, but it did little to alter the outcome of Monday’s series opener. It was just his third round-tripper of the season. The 29-year-old shortstop is batting .267/.361/.419 with 16 runs scored, three homers and 12 RBI in 122 plate appearances.     Ceddanne Rafaela belted a two-run homer on Monday in the Red Sox’ win over the Rays.

    Advice: Rafaela took Rays starter Taj Bradley deep for a two-run shot -- his fifth long ball of the season -- in the fifth inning to give Boston a commanding five-run lead at the time. It was his second round-tripper in his last six contests.     Advice: Mastrobuoni went 0-for-10 at the dish over his last three games, and he'll be demoted to the minors now that Dansby Swanson (knee) is ready to be activated from the 10-day IL and Luis Vazquez is ready to get a shot with the big-league club.     Cubs activated SS Dansby Swanson from the 10-day injured list.

    Advice: The Cubs don’t play today, so it’s kind of surprising that the move is coming now. However, MLB.com’s transactions page says it’s official. Still unofficial is the Luis Vazquez callup, which is expected to happen before the game Tuesday. Swanson should start at shortstop Tuesday after missing two weeks with a sprained knee.     The Padres are calling Xander Bogaerts’ injury left shoulder inflammation.

    Advice: It’s an odd diagnosis, being that this was a sudden injury sustained while diving for a ball, but it’s what we’re left with after the Padres couldn’t initially find anything serious going on within the shoulder.
