    • Miguel Cabrera continued to torment major league pitching Thursday, going 2-for-3 with another homer in a comeback win against the Twins.
Advice: He also walked twice. Now on a four-game home run streak, Cabrera is 9-for-15 (.600) with five walks, a double, six homers, 13 RBI and nine runs during that stretch. He's first in the AL in batting average (.391), second in homers (14), and first in RBI (55), runs (39), slugging percentage (.701) and OPS (1.168). He's only eighth in walks (25) at the moment, but he'll be gifted plenty more of those as teams realize it's an awful idea to throw Cabrera a hittable pitch at the moment.

    • Miguel Cabrera hit his 12th home run of the season Tuesday in the Tigers' win over the Indians.
Advice: The home run raised his RBI total to a ridiculous 49, and he's now hitting .384/.455/.667 on the season. A Triple Crown is a rare feat, but Cabrera may actually be an odds-on favorite to repeat this year with how he's hitting.

    • Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-4 with three home runs and five RBI in Sunday night's loss to the Rangers.
Advice: Cabrera launched a three-run homer in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth off Derek Holland before he added a third home run late off Tanner Scheppers. The weather conditions at Arlington obviously played a factor, but it was a monster of a performance. Cabrera is currently on track to have a better season than his Triple Crown winning campaign in 2012. He has 11 home runs and leads the American League in batting average (.387), runs (34), and slugging-percentage (.659).

    • Josh Willingham blasted two homers and collected four RBI in Thursday's loss to the Tigers.
Advice: It was his first multi-hit game of May. Despite an anemic batting average (.212), The Hammer is getting on base (.368) at a percentage better than his career mark (.362). Willingham is fifth in the American League with 27 walks. Despite recent struggles, he has a four-game hitting streak and three long flies during those contests. Now is probably the time to buy low.

    • Martin Maldonado has regressed at the plate in 2013, slashing .184/.253/.303 over 83 plate appearances.
Advice: In his first real exposure to Major League pitching, Maldonado batted .266/.321/.408 in 256 plate appearances last season. Perhaps he's toting his struggles onto the field with his catcher's gear. Maldonado has been a run worse than average defensively this year, according to Baseball Reference.

    • Carlos Santana went 1-for-2 with four walks in Thursday's blowout win against the Boston.
Advice: He also scored three runs. Santana owners enjoyed a spectacular April out of their star catcher and then suffered through a rough May prior to Wednesday (182/.316/.333). In Cleveland's last two games, Santana is 3-for-6 with a homer, five walks, two RBI and four runs. He's third in the AL in walks (29) and fourth in OPS (.975).

    • Carlos Santana went 2-for-4 with a home run in the loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.
Advice: After a red hot April, Santana was hitting just .182/.316/.333 heading into Wednesday's game. Backup catcher Yan Gomes has been playing more frequently lately, but Santana's bat plays at first base and he even gets an occasional game at DH, too. No matter how they arrange it, Santana will be in the middle of the Indians lineup more often than not.

    • Darin Ruf could be called up this weekend.
Advice: Ruf is batting .263/.341/.431 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 42 games this year at the Triple-A level. Those aren't spectacular numbers, but Chase Utley (rib cage) may be headed to the disabled list and the Phillies will need an extra bat for their interleague series early next week in Boston. Ruf is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant.

    • Drew Stubbs tripled, doubled twice and drove in three runs as the Indians beat the Red Sox 12-3 on Thursday.
Advice: Stubbs merits as an everyday right fielder can be debated, but he is hitting better than he did last year, with a .255/.304/.403 line through 149 at-bats. And fortunately for his fantasy owners, the Indians lineup has been better than expected, giving him more chances to score and drive in runs from the ninth spot than anticipated.

    • Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said Thursday that Adam Eaton will "probably" get a second opinion on his left elbow from Dr. James Andrews in the coming days.
Advice: Eaton was recently pulled off his minor league rehab assignment due to renewed discomfort in his elbow. Towers said an MRI showed fluid around his ulnar collateral ligament, but no new damage was found. As of now, he's expected to rest for 2-3 weeks before restarting his rehab program, but he'll get Andrews' opinion just to be on the safe side.

    • Adam Eaton is dealing with renewed soreness in his left elbow and has returned to Phoenix for an examination.
Advice: Bad news. Eaton, who was diagnosed with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in March, began playing in rehab games earlier this month and felt well enough to return to center field last week. However, the pain has returned. The worst-case scenario would be season-ending Tommy John surgery, but it's not clear if that's a consideration yet. But it's obviously a concern.

Eaton was scheduled to play the field again on Saturday before being re-evaluated by the Diamondbacks. He should be activated before the end of the month. Manager Kirk Gibson said he's "not really worried about" finding enough playing time for all the members of a deep group of outfielders.
