    • Hunter Harvey gives up five runs in relief loss
      Hunter Harvey allowed five runs — four earned —in the top of the 10th to take a loss to the Mets on Monday.

      Advice: It’s the third time in a month that Harvey has allowed at least three runs, and his ERA has doubled from 2.08 on June 2 to 4.24 now. Apart from these three really bad outings, he’s done just fine. Still, we’re not sure he makes much sense on mixed-league rosters at this point; maybe there’s a chance the Nationals will trade Kyle Finnegan and make Harvey their closer, but it seems quite a bit more likely that they’ll keep both or trade both.     • Cracks 17th homer in win
      Alvarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: The Houston designated hitter provided two insurance runs by launching a 397-foot homer off Zach Pop in the ninth inning to extend the Astros' lead to 3-0. Alvarez has opened July nicely on the tails of a scorching June in which he hit .349 (30-for-86) with seven homers, 19 RBI and 20 runs scored.     • Josh Hader records 13th save after allowing homer
      Josh Hader picked up his 13th save despite giving up a homer in the ninth Monday against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Ernie Clement took him deep. That’s two homers allowed by Hader in his last three games and six on the season. Still, his ERA has fallen steadily these last couple of months; he has a 2.40 ERA and a 49/7 K/BB ratio in 30 innings since Apr. 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

      Hader picked up the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays, pitching one inning with one strikeout and allowing a solo home run.

      Advice: The Houston southpaw entered the ninth with a three-run lead and fired 13 pitches to lock up his 178th career save. However, Hader also allowed his sixth homer of the year -- a 404-foot solo shot to Ernie Clement -- raising his 2024 home-run rate to 1.4 HR/9.     • Surrenders three runs Sunday
      Castillo allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three over five innings Sunday against the Twins. He did not factor into the decision.

      Advice: The Twins struck early with a run in the first on two base hits. Castillo went on to retire 11 of the next 12 batters he faced but then ran into more trouble in the fifth, allowing a double and two more singles, which led to another pair of runs for the Twins. He was able to work his way through the inning, but his day would end there at 77 pitches. Castillo managed to not give up any free passes for the first time since May 12, though he's also failed to complete six innings in four of his last five starts. He still holds a respectable 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 103:30 K:BB in 104.2 innings and projects to take the mound again to kick off a weekend series with Toronto.       Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Brewers.

      Advice: Hoerner led off the contest with a solo home run, his fourth long ball of the season and second in the last four games. However, he didn't do anything else the rest of the afternoon, while the team as a whole mustered only one additional hit. Still, Hoerner managed to extend his hitting streak to eight games, and he's batting .344 during that stretch.     • Luis Castillo grabs a bat Sunday against Twins
      Luis Castillo struck out three and allowed three runs over five innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Twins.

      Advice: What a mess. Castillo was forced to grab a bat, and struck out looking in the fourth inning, after Seattle lost the designated hitter earlier in the contest when Mitch Haniger left the game following a hit by pitch. The 31-year-old righty was simply outdueled by Twins starter Joe Ryan, who limited the Mariners to just a pair of runs into the sixth inning before the bullpen took over and pretty much shut things down completely from there on out. He’ll bring a respectable 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 103/30 K/BB ratio across 104 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:31 pm

      Turner went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two strikeouts in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins.

      Advice: Turner gave himself the best birthday present by driving in the go-ahead runs in Sunday's win. He hit a two-run single in the seventh to complete the Phillies comeback after trailing 6-2. Turner has had three multi-hit games over his last five and at least one hit in 10 of his last 12.     • Hoerner extends hitting streak with home run
      Nico Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Brewers on Sunday.

      Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Cubs’ offense as they could only muster one run against the Brewers. Hoerner’s home run was just his fourth of the year.
