    • Will start for Texas on Tuesday
Eovaldi (groin) will start Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Eovaldi has missed nearly all of May with a strained right groin, but he will skip a rehab assignment and go right back into the Rangers' rotation. The right-hander would figure to be relatively limited from a workload perspective Tuesday, although the Rangers haven't revealed any specifics regarding a pitch count. Dane Dunning had been on turn to start Tuesday but will now take the ball Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:52 pm
    • Ohtani won’t play second game of doubleheader
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Ohtani won’t start the second game of the doubleheader Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani will get a rare day off in the second game of the twin-billing. With the 29-year-old superstar out, the Dodgers will have Will Smith as the designated hitter and Austin Barnes will get the start behind the plate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:19 am

    • Accounts for lone run in loss
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Reds.

Advice: Goldschmidt has homered three times over his last two games, though it's still too early to say he's completely out of the woods for his slow start to the campaign. He's shown some encouraging signs, hitting safely in all but one of his last 14 games while going 18-for-61 (.295) in that span. The first baseman is up to seven homers, 22 RBI, 26 runs scored and three stolen bases with a .222/.297/.359 slash line over 50 contests this season. Despite his recent success, he's striking out at a 31.5 percent clip and has struck out 32 times over 21 games in May. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:27 pm
    • Earns fifth save
Beeks allowed a run on two hits while striking out two and earning a save in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Beeks closed out the victory despite giving up a run for the fourth straight appearance. During that span, his ERA has jumped from 2.11 to 3.20 through 25.1 frames. It was the first time he converted a save since May 13 and he's now five for eight in save chances this season. Beeks is seemingly still the main option to close games for Colorado, though his job is far from secure. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:29 pm

    • Takes first loss Monday
Walker (3-1) took the loss against San Francisco on Monday, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits and two walks while striking out four batters over six innings.

Advice: The positive is that Walker was able to complete six frames for the first time in his past three starts, but he was far from effective in doing so. The right-hander gave up a season-high nine hits, while the five earned runs were the most he's allowed since his season debut April 28. Despite Walker's adequate 3-1 record, he's been unimpressive with a 5.51 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB over 32.2 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:28 pm
    • Cronenworth has double, RBI against Marlins Monday
Jake Cronenworth went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and an RBI against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Cronenworth’s bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning was the difference in the Padres’ 2-1 victory over the Marlins. He continues to play second base after the Padres’ trade for Luis Arraez. Cronenworth’s average is up to .271 and his OPS is up to .806, both of which would be career-highs. Rotoworld Monday, 6:33 pm
    • Paul Goldschmidt hits third homer in two days
Paul Goldschmidt hit his third homer in two days to give the Cardinals their only run Monday against the Reds.

Advice: Goldschmidt didn’t crush this one; technically, it wasn’t even a hard-hit ball at 94.3 mph. He hit it to the right spot, though. This little outburst has led to calls that Goldschmidt is back, but we want to see the K rate drop some before we buy into that. His 31% strikeout rate this year is a huge increase over his career mark of 22%. Rotoworld Monday, 6:00 pm
    • Jalen Beeks gives up run in fourth straight outing
Jalen Beeks recorded his fifth save despite giving up a run in the ninth Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: Beeks gave up a double to Tyler Freeman and a single to Andrés Giménez before finishing off the Guardians. It’s the fourth straight outing in which Beeks has allowed a run, and his stint as the Rockies’ closer might not last much longer. Victor Vodnik could be next in line in Colorado. • Walker allows five earned in loss Monday
Taijuan Walker allowed six runs (five earned) in six innings and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.

Advice: Walker allowed nine hits, two walks and struck out four. He completed six innings for the fourth time in six starts this year, but the five earned runs allowed increased his ERA to 5.51. After starting 3-0, Walker hasn’t won any of his last three starts. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals at home this weekend.
