• Grabs first Dodgers win
Glasnow (1-0) earned the win Thursday against St. Louis. He allowed one run on two hits and a walk over six innings while striking out five.

Advice: Paul Goldschmidt's solo home run in the fourth inning was the lone blemish on Glasnow's line Thursday and one of just two hits allowed by the right-hander. Glasnow needed just 81 pitches to make it through six innings as he picked up his first win with the Dodgers after taking a no-decision in LA's opener in South Korea. The 30-year-old Glasnow has allowed just two runs through 11 innings this season after going 10-7 with a 3.53 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 21 starts with Tampa Bay last year. • Tyler Glasnow holds down Cardinals in Dodgers’ win
Tyler Glasnow limited the Cardinals to one run and two hits over six innings in the Dodgers’ 7-1 victory Thursday.

Advice: Glasnow wasn’t involved in the decision in his start in Seoul, but this one was never in much doubt. Glasnow was both effective and efficient in throwing 81 pitches in his six innings. He struck out five and walked just one. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Springer homers in Opening Day win
George Springer went 1-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in the Blue Jays’ Opening Day win over the Rays.

Advice: Springer hit a solo shot in the fourth inning to get the scoring going. It was 100.3 mph off the bat and traveled 392 feet. He had another well-hit groundout and then had a soft lineup and pop-out. While it wasn’t a great game overall, the power is nice to see and Springer continues to hit leadoff for a solid Blue Jays lineup which will allow him to continue to post solid but not overwhelming fantasy value. • Eflin falls apart in the 6th in a loss
Zach Eflin was roughed up against the Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing six runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings in an Opening Day loss.

Advice: Eflin was solid for five innings, allowing only a solo home run to George Springer; however, the wheels fell off in the sixth. After getting the first batter out, he gave up a solo home run to Cavan Biggio and then recorded one more out before allowing another home run to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He then gave up three more hits, hit a batter, and walked another before being chased from the game. Given that it was his first start of the season, its not overly concerning to see him lose some gas towards the end. He still posted a solid 25 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW while showcasing new shape on both his cutter and sweeper. However, things won’t get much easier next week against the Rangers.

  • Mullins launches three-run HR in Opening Day win
Cedric Mullins launched a three-run homer in Thursday’s drubbing against the Angels on Opening Day.

Advice: The game was already out of reach at the time, but Mullins’ seventh-inning blast turned it into a laugher. Mullins has seen his fantasy stock tumble over the past couple of seasons, partially due to his own performance, but also the Orioles’ lineup also got a lot better. His days of hitting near the top of the lineup are over, but he should still do enough in counting stats to be a useful part of most fantasy rosters. Rotoworld Today, 3:00 pm

  • Julio Rodríguez headlines M’s Opening Day lineup
Julio Rodríguez is in center field and batting second for Thursday’s Opening Day showdown against the Red Sox.

Advice: Rodríguez and company will take on Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello, most likely with the roof closed, in Seattle to kick off the season. Here’s the full lineup: J.P. Crawford SS, Rodríguez CF, Jorge Polanco 2B, Mitch Garver DH, Cal Raleigh C, Mitch Haniger RF, Dominic Canzone LF, Ty France 1B, Josh Rojas 3B. Rotoworld Today, 1:35 pm

  • D-backs place Paul Sewald (oblique) on 15-day IL
Diamondbacks placed RHP Paul Sewald on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with a left oblique strain.

Advice: It’ll most likely be Kevin Ginkel handling the save chances for Arizona with Sewald sidelined to open the season with a Grade 2 left oblique strain. There isn’t a firm timetable yet for his potential return, but fantasy managers should expect him to miss at least a few weeks. Rotoworld Today, 1:25 pm

  • Batting sixth against left-hander
Cruz is starting at shortstop and batting sixth in Thursday's opener in Miami.

Advice: Cruz was a fixture atop the Pirates' batting order this spring when he walloped seven Grapefruit League home runs. However, with left-hander Jesus Luzardo on the bump for the Marlins, he'll slide down to the six spot for Opening Day while Connor Joe bats leadoff. Cruz should be the regular leadoff man against right-handers. Rotowire.com Today, 10:50 am

  • Oneil Cruz batting sixth on Opening Day vs. MIA
Oneil Cruz will bat sixth on Opening Day against the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: Cruz will probably get opportunities out of the leadoff spot against right-handers, but he’ll slide down to the sixth spot against Jesús Luzardo. The dynamic shortstop hit just .158 against lefties in 2022 before missing most of last season due to injury, so it’s a question about his game that he needs to answer. Connor Joe is hitting leadoff on Opening Day. Rotoworld Today, 10:36 am
