    • Clubs second homer
Rizzo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the A's.

Advice: Paul Blackburn left a 92.4 mph fastball up in the zone in the first inning, and Rizzo clubbed it over the fence in right-center field. The veteran first baseman snapped a 14-game homer drought with the blast, and he's still looking for his first sustained hot streak of 2024. Over 24 contests, Rizzo is slashing .231/.307/.319 with two doubles, two homers and 10 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 7:45 am
    • Likely to miss at least one month
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said after Tuesday's 14-1 win over the Cardinals that he expects Kelly (shoulder) to miss at least one month after landing on the 15-day injured list, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. "We're not looking in terms of weeks as what we had hoped for," Lovullo said of Kelly's timetable for a return from a teres major strain in his right shoulder. "So I think the next step up is a month, more than that."

Advice: Kelly had rolled to a 2-0 record, 2.19 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 24.2 innings through his first four starts of the season before he was scratched ahead of his most recent turn in the rotation this past Sunday against the Giants upon experiencing shoulder discomfort during a throwing session. He was sent in for two MRIs in recent days, and although both confirmed that Kelly had sustained a teres major strain, Lovullo noted that the Diamondbacks don't yet know if the strain is of the Grade 1, 2 or 3 variety. Lovullo added that Kelly will receive "a couple other opinions" on his injury before a firmer timeline and a treatment method is established, but the skipper said that the right-hander won't need surgery even while the "concern [level] is yet to be determined." In any case, Kelly's fantasy managers can probably feel comfortable ruling him out for all of May, and it could be difficult to justify stashing the 35-year-old if his timeline for a return ultimately gets pushed back further. • Homers as leadoff man
Trout went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Trout was placed atop the batting order for the first time since the 2020 campaign and wasted no time making an impact, taking Grayson Rodriguez deep to center for his first leadoff home run since 2012. Trout now has nine home runs through the team's first 24 games, which is his most since he had 10 in 2020. He's now also tied with Marcell Ozuna atop the home run leaderboard. Trout is slashing .237/.324/.581 with 12 RBI, 15 runs, five steals and a 11:23 BB:K in 105 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:17 am

    • CJ Abrams has three hits in loss to LAD
CJ Abrams went 3-for-5 and was caught stealing in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Abrams’ hits were singles, but Abrams is now slashing .316/.372/.671 on the season. He was hitting leadoff even against a lefty and continues to make a tremendous amount of contact. The only blemish is that this was the second time Abrams was caught stealing this year to go along with four steals. However, anybody who thought the 23-year-old’s performance in 2023 was a fluke might be regretting not having him on their fantasy team. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm

    • Rizzo homers in Yankees win
Anthony Rizzo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a win over the A’s on Tuesday.

Advice: The home run was just Rizzo’s second on the season and was hit 385 feet at 98.4 mph off the bat. He now has 10 RBI and a slash line of .231/.307/.319 on the year. We’ve yet to see the resurgence that many were hoping for from Rizzo, and it’s possible that the 34-year-old has endured too many injuries to get back to being anything more than a deep league fantasy player. • Royce Lewis (quad) to be re-evaluated this week
Twins general manager Derek Faley told reporters Royce Lewis (quad) will be re-evaluated later this week.

Advice: Lewis resumed baseball activities last week as he continues his recovery from a severe right quad strain that he suffered back on Opening Day. There should be a clearer timetable for his return following his latest evaluation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

    • Heads to 15-day IL
The Diamondbacks placed Kelly on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right shoulder strain.

Advice: Kelly was diagnosed with a teres major strain of his right shoulder following an MRI. He had been scheduled to start this past Sunday's series finale in San Francisco, but he was scratched after experiencing discomfort prior to the game. The Diamondbacks were initially hopeful the 35-year-old would avoid a stint on the IL, but that naturally went by the wayside with Tuesday's development. In a corresponding move, Tommy Henry was recalled from Triple-A Reno and should step into Kelly's spot in the rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:16 pm
    • Merrill Kelly heads to IL with shoulder strain
Diamondbacks placed RHP Merrill Kelly on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.

Advice: Arizona manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Kelly will not require surgery to address a teres major strain in his right shoulder, but the club doesn’t know the severity or next steps for the 35-year-old veteran right-hander until he receives additional medical opinions. There should be some clarity on his return timetable in the coming days, but fantasy managers should expect him to require a lengthy absence, especially since shoulder issues can be extremely complicated matters. • Mike Trout leading off Tuesday night vs. O’s
Mike Trout is leading off on Tuesday against the Orioles.

Advice: It’s the first time Trout has led off for Los Angeles since the second game of a late-August doubleheader against the Astros during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. His previous appearance before that was back in early 2018. The 32-year-old generational talent is in the midst of a renaissance campaign with an .889 OPS with eight homers and five steals through 23 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:56 pm
