Advice: Rutschman entered Sunday just 1-for-17 over his last five games, an unusual slump for the catcher. He took Zack Wheeler deep in the third inning to extend the Orioles' lead to 4-0, and that was ultimately all they needed in the win. Advice: Henderson worked a nine-pitch at-bat to lead off the first inning, and it ended with him taking Zack Wheeler deep. It was Henderson's lone hit in the game, but it was enough to extend his hitting streak to 10 contests, a span in which he's gone 14-for-43 (.326) with three long balls. The star shortstop is up to 22 homers, 49 RBI, 56 runs scored, nine stolen bases and a .274/.370/.588 slash line through 70 games in his breakout campaign. Advice: In addition to allowing 11 baserunners, Stroman was also on the mound for six of the Red Sox's franchise-best nine steals in the contest. Stroman has had two bad outings and one good one through three starts in June, though Sunday marked his first loss since May 9. Marcus Stroman gives up four runs in loss SundayMarcus Stroman struggled in a losing effort against the Red Sox on Sunday night, giving up four runs on seven hits over his five innings of work.
Advice: The 33-year-old hurler also walked four batters in the ballgame while punching out three. The Red Sox scratched out two runs against him in the second inning on a two-out, two-run single by Ceddanne Rafaela, then tacked on single runs in the third and in the fifth. They also took advantage of Stroman and Jose Trevino on the basepaths, swiping six bases in their five innings. Stroman got seven swings and misses on 102 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of only 24 percent. Corbin Carroll doesn’t think injury is seriousCorbin Carroll (ribs) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he doesn’t believe his rib injury is serious.
Advice: He’ll undergo a precautionary MRI exam in Arizona on Monday before traveling to join the team in Washington. Carroll said he felt much better after Sunday’s game though, and is optimistic that he won’t have to miss any time. We’ll have to wait and see what Monday’s imaging yields. Advice: Carroll left Sunday's 12-5 win over the White Sox in the seventh inning with left side discomfort, and he will now require some additional imaging. The Diamondbacks will begin a three-game series on the road against the Nationals on Tuesday, and with Carroll staying in Arizona for the MRI on Monday, it's possible that he's forced to miss at least one contest. Cleared to return WednesdayWoo (forearm) will rejoin the Seattle rotation Wednesday on the road against the Guardians, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Advice: Woo was forced to miss his most recent scheduled start this past Tuesday versus the White Sox due to right forearm discomfort. After his MRI came back clean, Woo was cleared to resume throwing and is now set to reclaim his spot in the rotation after getting just under a two-week break from pitching. The 24-year-old opened the campaign on the shelf due to right elbow inflammation, but he's been highly effective when available, producing a sparkling 1.07 ERA and 0.53 WHIP while striking out 24 batters over 33.2 innings in six starts this season. Bryan Woo (forearm) will start on WednesdayBryan Woo (forearm) will return to the Mariners’ rotation on Wednesday against the Guardians.
Advice: The 24-year-old hurler got good news this week when an MRI on his injured forearm came back clean. He’s now ready to return to action and shouldn’t have any restrictions going forward. Woo has posted a stellar 1.07 ERA, 0.54 WHIP and a 24/2 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings through his first six starts with the M’s this season. Rotoworld
