    The Giants optioned Burgos to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

    Advice: Burgos' contract was selected from Triple-A on Monday, and he'll now head back to Sacramento after spending just 24 hours in the big leagues. He gave up an earned run on three hits and a walk over one inning in his MLB debut. The 25-year-old southpaw has turned in a 1.64 ERA and 0.82 WHIP through 22 frames in the minors, however, so a return to San Francisco later in the year is definitely possible.   • Hoby Milner draws first career start on Tuesday
    Hoby Milner will serve as the Brewers’ opener for Tuesday’s game against the Rangers.

    Santos (lat) came away from his live batting practice session Saturday feeling very encouraged after deploying his sinker/slider combination, MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Santos faced rookies Ryan Bliss and Tyler Locklear before Saturday's game in Miami and flummoxed both players consistently, not allowing either to put the ball in play over the quick 10-pitch session. Santos is slated to throw another bullpen session during the Mariners' current three-game series at Tropicana Field against the Rays, with another live batting practice a possibility in the days following.     Clase pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and walk while striking out a batter on his way to a save in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

    Advice: Clase was called upon to protect a 6-5 lead in the top of the ninth inning, and he worked around a pair of baserunners for his 24th save of the season. The right-hander is as elite as it gets at closer, going 24-for-27 on save opportunities in 2024, while he has now converted his last 11 chances.     Otto (shoulder) has given up three earned runs on one hit and four walks while striking out four across three innings between his two appearances since shifting his rehab assignment to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

    Advice: Otto has 33 big-league starts on his resume, but given that he hasn't covered more than two innings in any of his five rehab appearances between Triple-A and the rookie-level Arizona Complex League thus far, the Padres look to be preparing him for a relief role upon his return from the 15-day injured list.     Chirinos is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Royals in Kansas City.

    Advice: He'll make another turn through the Miami rotation after he acquitted himself well in his Marlins debut this past Wednesday against the Cardinals, striking out six while allowing two runs on eight hits and no walks over five innings in a no-decision. With the Miami pitching staff having been decimated by injuries of late, Chirinos should have the opportunity to stick in the rotation beyond Tuesday if he continues to perform reasonably well.
