    • Stuck with loss in quality start
Crawford (2-6) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk over six innings as the Red Sox fell 4-1 to the Phillies. He struck out eight.

Advice: The right-hander got very little support from his offense or defense, but the difference in the game was the two solo shots Crawford served up to Kyle Schwarber. The quality start was Crawford's sixth of the season, but his first in over a month, while the eight Ks were a season high. Since beating the Giants on May 1, he's gone 0-5 in seven starts with a 5.40 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB in 40 innings. Crawford will try to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:25 am

    • Jordan Walker posts three hits, homers at Triple-A
Jordan Walker went 3-for-5 with a solo homer on Tuesday for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Walker hasn’t hit for a ton of over-the-fence power as Tuesday’s round-tripper was just his second of the season, but he’s batting .273 (38-for-139) with 13 extra-base hits and three steals across 34 contests for Triple-A Memphis. There is no timetable for the 22-year-old top prospect to return to the majors, but he followed a similar trajectory last season when he excelled at the highest level following an early-season demotion. • Jeimer Candelario drives in a run in loss
Jeimer Candelario went 1-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Candelario got the scoring started with a run-scoring double off of Triston McKenzie in the first inning for his 27th RBI of the season. The 30-year-old has been picking it up of late, slashing .277/.338/.585 over his last 16 games with five home runs, nine runs, nine RBI, and two steals. Given his big contract in the offseason, he figures to remain in the Reds lineup every day even when Noelvi Marte comes back, shifting back to being the primary first baseman. Now could be the time to scoop up the Candy Man if he’s still on waivers in your league. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:36 pm
    • Kutter Crawford bounces back in loss to Phillies
Kutter Crawford allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits over six innings in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford had allowed 15 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings in his last three starts, so giving up just two tonight is a huge step in the right direction. He also struck out eight and walked just one while posting a 28 percent whiff rate and a 36 percent CSW. Crawford was regularly in the zone with his fastball and cutter and posted four whiffs on seven swings with his splitter. It’s the kind of effort that should quiet some concerns about the 28-year-old, who will now take a 3.47 ERA into perhaps a tougher outing against the Yankees on Sunday. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:54 pm

    • CJ Abrams triples, collects RBI in Nats’ victory
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday, leading the Nationals to a 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Abrams extended Washington’s early lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly from ensuing batter Lane Thomas. The 23-year-old speedster has been in a bit of a rut offensively over the last few weeks, hitting .203 (25-for-123) with only three homers and two steals over his last 30 games. • Returns to lineup
Chapman (hamstring) is back in the Giants' lineup versus the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Chapman suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's game versus the Rangers and missed the two following games because of it. With the third baseman no longer sidelined, Casey Schmitt will head back to the bench. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:34 pm
    • Matt Chapman returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Astros
Matt Chapman (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Astros.

Advice: As expected, Chapman is back at third base and batting cleanup on Tuesday night following a two-game absence due to a relatively minor hamstring issue. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:29 pm
    • Juan Soto back in right field Tuesday vs. Royals
Juan Soto is back in right field for Tuesday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Soto is back patrolling right field for the first time since leaving last Thursday’s game against the Twins with left forearm discomfort. Clearly, the Yankees aren’t too concerned about the issue moving forward if he’s already back out there in the outfield after missing just a handful of contests to undergo further testing. • Mets activate Alvarez (thumb) off injured list
Mets activated C Francisco Alvarez off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Alvarez is back after missing close to six weeks while recovering from left thumb surgery. The 22-year-old should see the overwhelming majority of reps behind the plate, and the power in his right-handed bat makes him worthy of fantasy consideration in most formats. Just keep in mind that he’s not likely to fill out many other categories in 2024. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:59 am
