    • Logs 20th steal
Caballero went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts, two runs scored and a stolen base Thursday against the Athletics.

Advice: This line is indicative of Caballero's skill set, as he's striking out at a 29.3 percent clip and has just a .306 on-base percentage. However, he has already racked up 20 stolen bases, only the second player to hit that mark at this point in the campaign. Caballero's playing time could be in danger upon the return of Taylor Walls (hip), but for now, he fills a key role for both the Rays and fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:34 am
    • Launches game-winning homer
Martinez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 36-year-old DH came up big for the Mets, breaking a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning by crushing the first pitch he saw from Ryan Thompson to straightaway center field. Martinez is settling into a groove, slashing .279/.323/.508 over his last 15 games with five doubles, three homers and nine RBI, but his 36.9 percent strikeout rate during that time is still worrisome. • Continues surge Thursday
Toro went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run in an extra-innings loss to the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Toro wreaked havoc during the 12-inning contest, putting together his third multi-hit effort in the last four games. The 27-year-old also ripped a two-bagger for the second straight game, and his clutch RBI single in the 10th snapped a 4-4 tie at the time. Toro has found a home in the leadoff spot, logging a .277 batting average, 11 extra-base hits, three steals and 19 runs in 156 plate appearances from the top of the order. • J.D. Martinez hits go-ahead homer in eighth
J.D. Martinez hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to help the Mets to a win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Martinez came up huge for the Mets with a solo homer in the eighth to give New York a 3-2 lead and ultimately the victory. The 36-year-old isn’t the same dynamic offensive player he was a few years ago, but he’s still capable of providing success as seen in his .276/.313/.475 slash since joining the team near the end of April. • Nearing rehab outing
Cole (elbow) could make his first rehab start Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cole threw live batting practice Thursday, and his next step will likely be a lengthy rehab assignment. It's unclear which affiliate he'll begin the assignment with, though it will be a significant step toward his return regardless of exactly where it occurs. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:04 pm

    • Correa has three RBI in win Thursday
Carlos Correa went 1-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and three RBI against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Correa cleared the bases with a triple in the sixth inning that put the Twins ahead for good. Despite missing some time with an injury, he’s quietly having a nice season. Correa is hitting .259 with a .187 ISO, 22 runs and 18 RBI in 39 games this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:09 pm

    • Swats homer Wednesday
Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 victory against the Angels.

Advice: Verdugo's fourth-inning solo shot equaled the margin of victory in the pitching-dominated matchup. The long ball was his eighth of the season, putting Verdugo well on pace to surpass the career-best mark of 13 homers that he's reached two separate seasons. In his first campaign as a Yankee, Verdugo has added 29 RBI, 27 runs, a stolen base and a .260/.321/.439 slash line through 221 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:06 am

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) close to rehab assignment
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw a 43-pitch simulated game on Thursday.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Thursday that Cole could start a minor league rehab assignment as early as next week. The initial hope was for Cole to return sometime in June, and that could remain a possibility if he is indeed able to begin a rehab assignment in the next week or so. Stay tuned. • Rosenthal: Luzardo “likely to be traded”
According to Ken Rosenthal, Jesús Luzardo “is the single player most likely to be traded” this season.

Advice: Luzardo was a popular name in trade rumors in the offseason but was ultimately not moved. He has two more arbitration years before he becomes a free agent, so the Marlins should be able to get a decent return for him. In a year where they are not contending, it makes sense to see what they could get for the lefty, especially with Sandy Alcantara, Max Meyer, Eury Perez, Edward Cabrera, Braxton Garrett, and Ryan Weathers all able to take on a full workload in the rotation next season.
