    • Homers in loss
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Garcia is starting to come around at the plate, going 4-for-17 (.235) over his last four contests following a five-game slump. The third baseman has already matched his homer total from last season (four), which took him 123 games to accumulate in 2023. He's added four steals, 15 RBI, 10 runs scored and a .178/.224/.367 slash line over 98 plate appearances so far, but he remains intriguing in fantasy for his speed. Rotowire.com 2 minutes ago

    • Secures sixth save
Kimbrel earned a save against the Angels on Monday, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Advice: Kimbrel ran into some trouble in attempting to protect Baltimore's two-run ninth inning lead when he allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base. A one-out walk -- Kimbrel's first free pass of the campaign -- loaded the bases for Los Angeles, but the veteran closer got Nolan Schanuel to pop out before striking out Mike Trout looking to slam the door closed in dramatic fashion. Kimbrel is now 6-for-7 in save opportunities this season, and he's allowed just one earned run over 10 frames while racking up an impressive 16:1 K:BB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:52 pm
    • Struggling of late
McMahon went 0-for-3 with an RBI on Monday against the Padres.

Advice: McMahon recorded four hits April 12, but he has only five hits across 38 plate appearances since. He's also struck out at 39.5 percent clip in that span while tallying two RBI and two runs scored. Even with that stretch, McMahon has a .314 average across 100 plate appearances. • Kimbrel overtakes Billy Wagner with 423rd save
Craig Kimbrel moved past Billy Wagner on the all-time saves list with a scoreless ninth Monday against the Angels.

Advice: This was a classic post-peak Kimbrel outing; he hit Jo Adell with an 0-2 pitch, gave up a soft single and then walked a batter for the first time this year to load the bases with one out. At that point, he got Nolan Schanuel to pop out and struck out Mike Trout on four fastballs. His 423rd save leaves him alone in seventh place on the all-time list. His next will tie John Franco for sixth, and after that, he’ll keep battling it out with Kenley Jansen, who is two saves ahead of him at 425. Both should also pass Francisco Rodríguez at 437 this year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:44 pm
    • Falls short of quality start
Pfaadt yielded two runs on two hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out four in the loss against the Cardinals.

Advice: Pfaadt stifled the Cardinals over five shutout innings before a two-run single by Lars Nootbaar knocked him out of the game in the sixth. Since earning a win in his season debut, Pfaadt has allowed 15 earned runs over his last 24 innings. Despite striking out only four batters, he forced 10 whiffs Monday, his second-highest total of the season. Pfaadt will carry a 4.97 ERA into his next outing, which is projected to be in Seattle this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 pm
    • Brandon Pfaadt allows two runs in no-decision
Brandon Pfaadt gave up two runs over 5 1/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Pfaadt continues to be one of the more difficult pitchers to evaluate this season as he retired 12 consecutive batters to open this one before giving up a leadoff single to Nolan Arenado in the fifth inning. Things came completely unraveled in his next frame as he walked three consecutive batters and allowed a two-run single to Lars Nootbaar before being lifted from the contest. He finished with four strikeouts in addition to those three free passes. He holds an inflated 4.97 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 27/6 K/BB ratio across 29 innings (five starts). He’ll square off against the Mariners on Saturday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 pm
    • Maikel Garcia goes deep in loss to Blue Jays
Maikel Garcia hit a two-run homer on Monday in the Royals’ loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Garcia has cooled off considerably after coming out of the gate on fire to open the regular season, but he managed to take Blue Jays lefty Yusei Kikuchi deep in the sixth inning for his first round-tripper since April 3. The 24-year-old infielder is batting .178 (16-for-90) with 10 runs scored, four homers, 15 RBI and four steals through 22 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:18 pm

    • Productive during twin bill
Crawford went a combined 2-for-8 with a triple, four RBI, two walks and two runs during both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Rockies.

Advice: The four trips on the basepaths made for a busy afternoon for the veteran shortstop, and the productive day, which was highlighted by a bases-clearing triple in Game 2, was preceded by back-to-back two-hit efforts in Crawford's previous two contests Tuesday and Saturday. Crawford is still slashing just .193/.287/.289 on the season, but he's now reached safely in 11 consecutive games, a span during which he boasts a .353 on-base percentage. • Likely headed for rehab stint
Ruiz (illness) indicated Sunday that he is almost fully recovered from the bout of the flu that landed him on the 10-day injured list, but he's expected to go on a short rehab stint before being activated, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old catcher has lost nearly 20 pounds while battling the bug, but he's begun taking part in some baseball activities and lifting weights again. He also tried to spin the weight loss as a positive. "But I feel good. I feel lighter," Ruiz said. "So I've got to take the positives. I feel like I can run better, move better. And I gain weight fast, too. I'm going to eat a couple burgers." Ruiz will likely be assigned to Double-A Harrisburg to get back into game shape, and while he's eligible to come off the IL as soon as Tuesday, a return this weekend for a series in Miami seems more plausible.
