    • Short start as expected
Eovaldi allowed two runs on five hits and struck out two without walking a batter over three innings while taking a no-decision in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Eovaldi wasn't sent on a rehab assignment and was reportedly on a pitch count for his return from a groin strain. The right-hander ended up throwing 37 pitches (27 strikes) in his first start since May 2. Eovaldi is at a 2.84 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 46:19 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts this season. Given his limited workload Tuesday, Eovaldi may need to be stretched out over the next couple of weeks. That may make it tough for him to qualify for the win in his next projected start. It's possible Eovaldi pitches again this weekend versus Miami, as Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports that Andrew Heaney -- who threw 2.1 innings in relief Tuesday -- could be used as a long reliever while the Rangers' schedule doesn't require them to have five starters. • Eovaldi goes three innings in return from IL
Nathan Eovaldi allowed two earned runs over three innings in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After pitching a perfect first inning, Eovaldi ran into trouble in the second, allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base, with Pavin Smith doubling home Christian Walker to give the Diamondbacks their first run of the night. He would give up another run in the inning on a Eugenio Suárez sacrifice fly. He would only pitch one more inning before being pulled after 37 pitches, functioning somewhat as an opener for the Rangers after the team opted to scratch Dane Dunning from his scheduled start. It was Eovaldi’s first outing since May 2nd after he was placed on the 15-day IL with a groin strain. If he’s back on the five-game rotation, his next start would be scheduled for Monday against the Tigers. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:28 pm
    • Facing pitch count in return
Eovaldi (groin) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said the right-hander will be on an unspecified pitch count, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: The 34-year-old suffered the groin strain during his May 2 start against Washington and will rejoin the big-league rotation without embarking on a rehab assignment. Eovaldi shouldn't be expected to pitch deep into Tuesday's contest given the workload limitations. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:25 pm
    • Nathan Eovaldi starting Tuesday against D-backs
Rangers activated RHP Nathan Eovaldi from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Eovaldi will take the ball on Tuesday evening against the Diamondbacks following a three-week stint on the injured list recovering from a right groin strain. The 34-year-old veteran right-hander has remained a rock-solid mid-rotation stabilizer for fantasy managers this season, when healthy, with a sparkling 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44/19 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings (seven starts). • Will start for Texas on Tuesday
Eovaldi (groin) will start Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Eovaldi has missed nearly all of May with a strained right groin, but he will skip a rehab assignment and go right back into the Rangers' rotation. The right-hander would figure to be relatively limited from a workload perspective Tuesday, although the Rangers haven't revealed any specifics regarding a pitch count. Dane Dunning had been on turn to start Tuesday but will now take the ball Wednesday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:52 pm
    • Set for another rehab outing
Miller (shoulder) will make his next minor-league rehab start Friday or Saturday and is scheduled to throw about four innings, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Miller allowed three runs and threw 55 pitches over three frames in his first rehab outing Sunday with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, and it's no surprise he'll require at least one more appearance in the minors before rejoining the Dodgers. The 24-year-old could be back in the big-league rotation as early as next week, but it's also possible he'll require a third rehab outing. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:39 pm

    • Sharp outing against Yankees
Musgrove did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win over the Yankees, allowing one run on six hits and no walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Musgrove blanked the Yankees through five before Juan Soto finally opened up the scoring with a one-out RBI double in the sixth that prompted Musgrove's exit after 87 pitches. Despite remaining winless since April 21, Sunday's start was an encouraging showing and one of Musgrove's best starts in what's been a tough season for him so far. The 31-year-old will carry a 5.66 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB (49.1 innings) into a road start against the Royals this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:12 am
    • Up to 55 pitches in rehab
Miller (shoulder) gave up three earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings Sunday in his first rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: Miller's lack of effectiveness prevented him from building up much from the 51-pitch simulated game he logged Tuesday, as he threw only 55 pitches (38 strikes) in his first rehab start. It's unclear how many more rehab outings he will need, but Miller will certainly make at least one more start in the minors before rejoining the big-league rotation. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:55 pm

    • No decision yet on rehab start
The Rangers have yet to decide whether Eovaldi (groin) will require a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the 15-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Eovaldi has been on the shelf since May 3 with a strained right groin. Though Eovaldi didn't return from the IL in the minimum 15 days like manager Bruce Bochy had initially suggested could be the case, the veteran right-hander might be able to avoid a rehab assignment prior to being activated. He traveled with the Rangers this weekend and threw a bullpen session Friday at Target Field, and he'll presumably be reassessed when the team returns to Arlington ahead of its two-game home series versus the Diamondbacks that begins Tuesday.
