    • Bobby Miller (shoulder) throws sim game Thursday
Bobby Miller (shoulder) threw two innings in a simulated game on Thursday without any issues.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander will repeat the process on Sunday. If all goes well then, he could be cleared to face hitters in a live bullpen session. He’s making slow and methodical progress in his recovery from inflammation in his right shoulder and could potentially be ready to rejoin the Dodgers’ rotation at the end of the month if everything goes according to plan. • On bench Friday
Stott is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Miami.

Advice: Stott will defer to Whit Merrifield at second base with a lefty (Trevor Rogers) on the mound for Miami. Stott is slashing .250/.344/.389 through 128 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:59 pm

    • Provides lone run in loss
Nootbaar went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Nootbaar has homered in each of the last two games, but he's batting just .184 (7-for-38) with five extra-base hits over his last 10 contests. The outfielder is up to three homers through 24 contests on the year, with the recent increase in power helping to make up for an overall lack of success at the plate. He's slashing .184/.290/.356 with nine RBI, eight runs scored, six doubles and two stolen bases through 101 plate appearances. Nootbaar continues to split time between left field and right field depending on where Brendan Donovan plays. Rotowire.com Today, 9:55 am

    • Homer, three RBI in win
Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Angels.

Advice: Pasquantino jumped on a hanging four-seamer with two outs in the top of the third inning and crushed it into the stands for his fifth home run of the season, and his first this month. The first baseman would also add a sacrifice fly in the contest, marking the third time in his last five games in which he's tallied multiple RBI. Pasquantino is on an absolute tear right now, registering three multi-hit games in a row with at least one extra-base hit in each of those performances. He's batting .429 (12-for-28) in May with 11 RBI, six runs scored and six extra-base hits. Rotowire.com Today, 6:34 am
    • Delivers winning run
Carroll went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Carroll delivered the go-ahead run on a two-out single in the top of the eighth inning, a half inning after the Reds plated three runs to tie the game. The outfielder returned to the top of the order this week after a season-opening slump dropped him to the lower third in late April. He's worked through the slow start, which he attributed to a flat swing, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. Carroll has a pop-up rate of 15.2 percent on the season, more than double than what it was in 2023 (7.3 percent). Rotowire.com Today, 4:43 am
    • Lars Nootbaar homers in second straight contest
Lars Nootbaar drilled a solo homer on Thursday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Nootbaar went deep for the second straight contest during Thursday’s one-sided affair at American Family Field, taking Brewers starter Tobias Myers out to center field in the third inning for his third long ball of the season. The 26-year-old corner outfielder is batting just .186 (16-for-87) through 24 contests since returning from the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm

    • Corbin Carroll knocks in go-ahead run against Reds
Corbin Carroll knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Thursday to help the D-Backs to a 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: In what has been a very disappointing season for Carroll, the 23-year-old came up big Thursday with an RBI single to score Tucker Barnhart that broke a 4-4 tie and ultimately gave Arizona the victory. The 23-year-old was one of the best fantasy players regardless of age, and while his .206/.300/.270 slash is anything but ideal, there’s obvious reasons to believe he’ll bounce back considerably in the summer months. • Guardians transfer Gavin Williams to 60-day IL
Guardians transferred RHP Gavin Williams to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Nothing has changed with Williams from a return timetable standpoint as the procedural move merely clears up a spot on Cleveland’s 40-man roster for newly-acquired reliever Darren McCaughan. The 24-year-old righty has been on the shelf since spring training due to right elbow inflammation, but was able to resume a throwing program last week following a brief setback. There’s a chance he’s ready to return at some point next month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 am

    • Shifted to 60-day IL
The Guardians transferred Williams (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: The move clears a spot on the team's 40-man roster for the addition of Darren McCaughan. Williams resumed a throwing program a week ago after a brief shutdown period following a setback with his right elbow. It was going to take him a while to get ramped back up anyway, though, so this transaction shouldn't alter his timetable. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:43 am
