    • Brandon Lowe out again Tuesday with toe injury
Brandon Lowe (toe) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mariners.

Advice: Lowe suffered a broken pinkie toe Saturday, and hasn’t been able to play since. The 29-year-old will remain on the bench with Jose Caballero getting the start at second base and Taylor Walls starting at shortstop. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:22 pm

    • Clubs eighth homer
Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The slugging third baseman took Lance Lynn deep in the fifth inning, but it was the only extra-base hit Atlanta managed on the night. Riley is having one of his patented hot streaks, launching five of his eight homers on the season over the last 10 games while slashing .441/.513/1.000 with four doubles, 10 RBI and 10 runs. • Snaps homer drought
Pasquantino went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a 4-1 win against the Marlins.

Advice: Pasquantino put the Royals on the board in the fourth inning with his solo blast to right field. It was the first baseman's first long ball since the first day of June, a span of 20 contests. While Pasquantino hasn't been able to hit the ball over the fence regularly this season, he does have 20 doubles (tied for 10th in the majors) and has already blown away his previous season-best mark with 47 RBI through 76 games. • Three hits, two steals Monday
Abrams went 3-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Advice: Abrams has posted a trio of three-hit games over his last four contests. He'd been less fortunate on the basepaths lately, going 1-for-4 on stolen base attempts over the previous five games before his two swipes Monday. The shortstop is putting together a strong breakout campaign with a .275/.325/.502 slash line, 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 47 runs scored and 13 thefts over 70 contests. • Nathaniel Lowe goes 0-for-4, fans three times
Nathaniel Lowe went 0-for-4 and struck out three times against the Brewers in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Lowe looked like a long-term answer at first base for the Rangers in 2022, but his power production fell off last year and has continued to decline this season, as he’s managed just two homers and three barrels through 228 plate appearances. His .351 OBP is nice, so it seems unlikely that the Rangers will try to upgrade this summer. However, if he fails to step it up, he’s going to be a non-tender candidate this winter. • Riley belts fifth home run in last 10 games
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Riley’s home run was his eighth of the season. He belted a solo shot off Cardinals starter Lance Lynn in the fifth inning. Riley is heating up after a slow start to the season. In his last 10 games, he’s 15-for-34 (.441) with five home runs and 10 RBI. Riley is hitting just .251 with a .745 OPS on the season, but could provide first round level production the rest of the way. Rotoworld Monday, 7:26 pm

    • Bryan Reynolds pushes hit streak to 21 straight
Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 21 consecutive games on Monday in the Pirates’ loss to the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also drew a walk, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances in a one-sided affair. The 29-year-old outfielder is batting .315 (39-for-124) with seven homers and one steal over his last 30 games. Rotoworld Monday, 7:18 pm
    • Making another rehab start
Williams (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Advice: Williams built up to 66 pitches in his most recent rehab outing with Columbus, striking out four over five innings of one-run ball. The Guardians would like him to get stretched out just a bit more before likely reinserting him into their rotation next week. Williams has been out all season with a right elbow injury, which he suffered during a weighted-ball workout in spring training. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:00 pm

    • Taking batting practice
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Nootbaar (oblique) took batting practice Monday and will do so again Tuesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: If Nootbaar responds well to the consecutive days of BP, the Cardinals could clear the outfielder to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment later in the week. Though Nootbaar wouldn't seem to be a likely candidate to return from the 10-day injured list for any of the Cardinals' seven games this week, he shouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment. Alec Burleson has been serving as the Cardinals' primary right fielder in Nootbaar's stead, but Burleson will likely settle back in at designated hitter once Nootbaar is activated.
