    • Lasts seven innings in defeat
Greene (0-2) suffered the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings against the Phillies. He struck out six.

Advice: Greene gave up three doubles and a triple among seven hits allowed but was able to limit the damage by allowing only one run in each of the second through fifth innings. The first three Phillies runs scored on two sacrifices and a fielder's choice, while they were limited to one run in the fifth thanks to an inning-ending double play with a runner in scoring position. While Greene effectively kept the Reds in the game, the offense couldn't muster a single run against Philly starter Ranger Suarez, saddling Greene with his second loss. The seven innings pitched were a season high for Greene, who will take a 4.55 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place over the weekend in Arlington against the Rangers. • Hunter Greene allows four runs in loss versus Phillies
Hunter Greene allowed four earned runs and punched out six in seven frames on Monday against the Phillies.

Advice: Three of the four earned runs by Greene came on two sacrifice fly outs and a fielder’s choice so it wasn’t a total disappointment for the 24-year-old hurler. However, his seven hits allowed tonight were the most he’s had in a start this season and he’s now walked multiple batters in consecutive games. Greene now boasts a 4.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP with a 36/11 K/BB ratio. He’s yet to pick up a win, but his strikeouts are what holds the most value for fantasy managers and he’s posted at least six strikeouts in every start this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:58 pm
    • Blasts game-winner
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Monday's 2-0 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Gelof entered the ninth hitless in three at-bats but broke the scoreless tie by lifting a 2-2 pitch over the right-center field wall for an opposite field two-run blast, his third of the season. Gelof, who entered the day hitting just .202, has now put together hits in consecutive games for the first time since April 7-11 by following up a two-hit day Sunday with Monday's game-winner. • Jonathan India (illness) remains out of lineup
Jonathan India (illness) is not in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Phillies.

Advice: India and Jake Fraley are once again out while dealing with their illness. WIth India resting, Santiago Espinal gets another start at second base and he’ll hit seventh. India should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:05 pm

    • Remains out of lineup
India (illness) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: India will take a seat for the second game in a row, while outfielder Jake Fraley is withheld from the lineup for a third straight contest as both players battle illnesses. Santiago Espinal will stick in the starting nine for a sixth consecutive contest, manning second base while India gets another day off to recover. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:02 pm

    • Zack Gelof hits go-ahead homer in Oakland’s win
Zack Gelof broke a scoreless tie with a homer in the top of the ninth as the A’s defeated the Yankees 2-0 on Monday.

Advice: The two-run shot gave Gelof his first runs batted in since a solo homer on Apr. 10. The A’s dropped him out of the second spot in the lineup over the weekend, batting him sixth the last two days. It seemed like an overreaction, given that pretty much everyone on the team is struggling, but it’s hard to blame Mark Kotsay for wanting to try something different. Gelof is at .205/.271/.352 in 97 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:49 pm
    • Mired in extended skid
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Guardians on Sunday, but he still carries a .158/.200/.158 slash line over the 40 plate appearances covering his last 10 games.

Advice: Gelof appeared primed to build on a highly encouraging rookie 2023 campaign after he followed up an impressive spring by reaching safely in nine of the first 12 games of the season. However, matters took a serious turn for the worse after that point, as the aforementioned slash line indicates. Consistent and impactful contact have both proven highly elusive -- Gelof sports a 32.5 percent strikeout rate in that 10-game sample and hasn't recorded an extra-base hit since the solo home run he belted against the Rangers on April 10. • Esteury Ruiz starting for A’s against LHP
Esteury Ruiz is starting in center field and batting lead-off for the Athletics against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: With left-hander Carlos Rodon on the mound, the A’s will turn to Esteury Ruiz with JJ Bleday getting a day off. Despite his power surge in the minors and in two starts since getting called back up, Ruiz looks to be in a short-side platoon for Oakland right now. There’s a chance that he could work himself into a bigger role, but it looks like the A’s are not too keen to change that right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:01 am

    • Goes deep Sunday
Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's win over the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani opened up the scoring with a two-run blast off Adrian Houser in the third inning for his first round tripper since April 12. Ohtani has notched at least one hit in all but three games so far this season. He's slashing .368/.431/.663 with five homers, 13 RBI, 19 runs and a 12:20 BB:K in 109 plate appearances. Ohtani currently leads MLB with a .368 average and 63 total bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:51 am
