      Advice: Paredes went yard in the eighth inning to tally his 12th homer of the season and only his second since May 31. He's hit only .229 in that span with nine RBI and six runs scored.     • Nabs two bags in loss
      Garcia went 0-for-2 with two steals, two walks and one run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June, as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday (though Massey will serve as DH for now), so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role.     • Set for season-ending wrist surgery
      Encarnacion-Strand will undergo surgery on his right wrist July 11, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The recovery is expected to take three months, effectively ending Encarnacion-Strand's 2024 season. He initially went on the injured list back in early May with a right ulnar styloid fracture, but subsequent testing revealed ligament damage, which he'll need surgery to address.     • CES set to undergo season-ending hand surgery
      Christian Encarnacion-Strand will undergo season-ending right hand surgery on July 11.

      Advice: Encarnacion-Strand has been out since late April after suffering ligament damage in his right hand when he was hit by a pitch. The 24-year-old slugger’s decision to undergo surgery to repair a ulnar styloid fracture on the inside of his hand near his wrist, will keep him sidelined until early October, and is basically going to end his season. He can be safely dropped in all re-draft formats, but is obviously worth stashing in all keeper and dynasty league formats.       Canning (3-8) allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Monday.

      Advice: Canning limited the damage to a Tyler Nevin solo home run in the second inning. This strong outing -- Canning's longest of the season -- ended his four-start losing streak. It's just the fourth time in 16 starts he's given up one run or less. The right-hander is now at a 4.72 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 59:30 K:BB through 87.2 innings this season.     • Griffin Canning goes seven to beat A’s
      Griffin Canning limited the A’s to one run in seven innings for a victory in a 5-1 game Monday.

      Advice: Tyler Nevin’s homer was the only damage. The A’s almost had another homer against Hans Crouse in the ninth, but Taylor Ward caught Tyler Soderstrom’s shot to left that likely would have bounced off the top of the wall and over. The win was Canning’s first since May 15 and third in 16 starts on the season. He’s clearly throwing better now than he did in April, but it’s not enough to offer him mixed-league value.       De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Monday's win over Pittsburgh.

      Advice: De La Cruz scored a run after singling in the fourth inning before knocking an RBI double and scoring again in the fifth. He capped off his day with a two-run shot in the sixth.       Advice: Burleson started the scoring with an RBI double in the third inning off Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach. He’s had at least two hits in four consecutive games and five of his last six games. He’s 11-for-24 (.458) with 10 runs scored, three home runs, nine RBI and a double over his last six games.     • Elly De La Cruz hits 14th homer, Reds rout Pirates
      Elly De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, leading the Reds to an 11-5 blowout victory over the Pirates.

      Advice: De La Cruz served as Cincinnati’s primary offensive catalyst on Monday night at Great American Ball Park with a three-hit performance that included a pair of batted balls with exit velocities over 110 mph, including an impressive 439-foot moonshot -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- off Pirates reliever Daulton Jefferies in the sixth inning. He also scalded a 110-mph double to right field off Pittsburgh starter Bailey Falter, which brought home a run earlier in the contest. The 22-year-old fantasy superstar has seemingly caught fire again over the last few days, batting .379 (11-for-29) with two homers and one steal over his last seven games.
