• Shifts to 60-day IL
The Twins transferred Topa from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday with left patellar tendinitis.

Advice: The right-hander was diagnosed with a small tear in the patellar tendon of his left knee in mid-May and isn't expected to resume throwing for another month, so a move to the 60-day IL isn't much of a surprise. Topa was a key bullpen piece for Seattle last season with a 2.61 ERA and 24 holds in 75 appearances, but he's been sidelined by knee issues since late in spring training and won't be debuting for Minnesota until midseason, at least. • Nick Ramirez operating as 27th player for Dodgers
Nick Ramirez will be the 27th player for the Dodgers for their doubleheader Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Ramirez will be eligible to pitch in both games. He’ll then report back to Triple-A Oklahoma City, assuming the Dodgers don’t make a move after the game to place him on the official active roster. Rotoworld Today, 10:16 am

  • Kody Funderburk heading to Triple-A St. Paul
Twins optioned LHP Kody Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Funderburk will head to Triple-A with the Twins adding Diego Castillo to the active roster. The 27-year-old southpaw will be up-and-down for Minnesota for much of the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld Today, 10:15 am
  • Serving as 27th man Tuesday
The Dodgers recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Ramirez will serve as the 27th man for the Dodgers during their doubleheader against the Mets. The left-handed reliever has permitted four runs with a 3:5 K:BB over 9.1 innings during his time in the majors this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am

  • Twins move Justin Topa (knee) to 60-day IL
Twins transferred RHP Justin Topa (knee) to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Topa is hoping to return this year, but the 33-year-old is currently dealing with a partial tear in his left patellar tendon. The right-hander clears room on the 40-man roster for Diego Castillo. Rotoworld Today, 10:10 am

  • Nabs third hold of season
Vodnik gave up two hits and no walks over 1.1 scoreless innings in relief en route to collecting his third hold of the season in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Vodnik has largely worked in middle relief this season, but the Rockies are gradually starting to trust him in higher-leverage spots. He's now claimed holds in both of his last two appearances and is maintaining a 2.93 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB over 30.2 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 9:27 am
  • Records five outs in first start
Molina gave up three earned runs on two hits and three walks across 1.2 innings in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Molina stepped in for his first MLB start on short notice after Austin Gomber (arm) was scratched ahead of the game, but the Rule 5 pick ended up serving as more of an opener than a traditional starting pitcher. He needed 45 pitches just to record five outs before being pulled in favor of Josh Rogers, who tossed five innings of two-run ball in bulk relief. If Gomber ends up landing on the injured list and isn't able to make his next turn this weekend in Los Angeles, Rogers would likely be the preferred choice over Molina to make a spot start or cover the bulk of the innings. • Headed to injured list
Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Tuesday in an interview with 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh that Perez (groin) will be placed on the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Perez suffered a left groin injury during Sunday's start against Atlanta, and while the severity is unclear at the moment, it's evidently bad enough that the left-hander will be sidelined for at least a couple weeks. Quinn Priester looms as an obvious candidate to replace Perez in the Pittsburgh rotation. Perez's next turn will come up Sunday in Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 9:21 am

  • Martin Pérez heading to IL with groin injury
Pirates manager Derek Shelton told reporters that Martin Pérez will be placed on the injured list with his groin injury.

Advice: Pérez left Sunday’s start against Atlanta with a left groin injury, and the southpaw will now miss at least a couple of weeks while he’s away from the team. There’s no word yet as to who will take Pérez’s place in the rotation, but Pittsburgh will have to add a new arm to the group over the weekend. Quinn Priester could make sense, as he pitched Sunday and would be on turn for Pérez’s spot. Rotoworld Today, 9:16 am
