    Milner walked one and struck out two batters in one inning Friday. He earned a save against the Cardinals.

    Advice: Milner took the mound with a 2-1 lead in the 10th inning and finished off the contest despite facing a first-and-third threat. It was the 33-year-old's first career MLB save.     Payamps (1-1) recorded one out and walked one batter Friday. He earned a win over the Cardinals after blowing a save chance.

    Advice: Payamps entered the ninth inning with two runners on in a 1-0 game. After plunking Ivan Herrera to load the bases, he walked Brendan Donovan to let the tying run score.     Ryan Helsley allowed an unearned run in the 10th inning to pick up a loss to the Brewers on Friday.

    Advice: The run was unearned because it was the extra-inning runner that ended up scoring. Helsley gave up an RBI single to William Contreras that gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead, and Helsley his second loss of the season.     Hoby Milner fired a scoreless 10th against the Cardinals on Friday to pick up a save.

    Advice: Milner was able to pick up the save in the 10th after Trevor Megill and Joel Payamps both were unable to get the job done. The southpaw has his first save of the year, but it’s worth noting that Abner Uribe was unavailable for this contest, so it’s unlikely he picks up many more.     Foley issued a walk and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning Friday. He earned a save in the win over Minnesota.

    Advice: Foley worked around a two-out walk to finish off the 5-4 win Friday. He's now converted all six of his save chances and is riding a 10-inning scoreless streak to open the 2024 campaign.     Jason Foley slammed the door on the Twins on Friday night, protecting a one-run lead to secure his sixth save of the season.

    Advice: The hard-throwing right-hander came on with a one-run lead to protect and responded by striking out Byron Buxton and getting Carlos Santana to ground out to first base. He did allow a two-out walk to Willi Castro — who then stole second base — but battled back to get Christian Vazquez to fly out to left field to end the game. Foley has been outstanding on the season — registering a pristine 0.00 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 10/6 K/BB ratio (10 innings) to go along with a pair of victories and six saves.   • Struggles in Philly
    Crochet (1-3) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks across three innings. He struck out three.

    Advice: Crochet was done in by the home-run ball Friday -- he allowed a pair of three-run homers to Alec Bohm before Whit Merrifield led off the fourth with a solo shot, forcing Crochet out of the game. After an excellent start this year, the 24-year-old lefthander has now allowed 12 runs over 7.2 innings in his last two outings. Crochet's ERA is up to 5.61 despite an excellent 1.01 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across five starts (25.2 innings).   • Alec Marsh blanks Orioles into sixth inning
    Alec Marsh didn’t allow a run while striking out six over 5 2/3 innings against the Orioles on Friday to pick up a victory.

    Advice: Marsh allowed just three hits with two walks. The right-hander gave up just one extra-base knock — a double by Antony Santander — in what was one of the best starts of the 25-year-old’s career. Marsh has now made two starts against Baltimore this year, and he’s allowed one run over 12 2/3 innings in those outings. He’ll try and replicate this success against the Blue Jays next week.   • Andrew Heaney gives up two homers to Braves
    Andrew Heaney yielded three runs in five innings Friday in a no-decision against the Braves.

    Advice: Travis d’Arnaud hit two of his three homers off Heaney to ruin the left-hander’s night. Still, this wasn’t a bad showing, considering the opponent. He’ll be a decent play in mixed leagues with a start against the Mariners next on the schedule.
