    • Mitch Garver exits after getting HBP on wrist
Mitch Garver left Sunday’s game after two innings with an apparent right wrist injury.

Advice: Garver stayed in to run after getting hit in the wrist by a pitch, but he couldn’t continue in the third. Unfortunately, Garver was catching and Cal Raleigh was DHing today, so the Mariners, who shed their third catcher (Seby Zavala) a couple of weeks ago, lost their DH. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:49 pm

    • Taking seat against lefty
Melendez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Melendez will sit against Cleveland lefty Logan Allen on Sunday, ending a stretch of 11 straight starts during which he posted a .688 OPS. Dairon Blanco will man left field and bat ninth in the series finale. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:08 am

    • Receiving rest Sunday
Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Lee will get the afternoon off after he started at catcher in both of the first two contests of the series. Martin Maldonado will spell Lee behind the dish in the series finale. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:46 am

    • Gabriel Moreno (thumb) could return Tuesday
Gabriel Moreno (thumb) could be activated off the injured list as as soon as Tuesday, Jody Jackson of the Diamondbacks reports.

Advice: Moreno was placed on the injured list last Saturday with a sprained left thumb, and he’ll be eligible for activation Tuesday. The 24-year-old may get a couple extra days, but the Diamondbacks already announced they don’t believe he needs a rehab assignment, so it would take something unforeseeable for him not to be back before the middle of the week. • Out of Sunday's lineup
Ruiz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Ruiz has a .639 OPS in his past 10 games and will head to the bench for the series finale in Tampa Bay. Drew Millas will step in behind the plate to catch for lefty Patrick Corbin. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:31 am

    • Receiving Sunday off
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Astros.

Advice: It's a well-deserved day off for Alvarez, who posted a .471/.558/.882 slash line with five doubles and three homers while starting the past 17 games. Luis Torrens will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Luis Severino on Sunday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:29 am
    • Receiving rest day
Grandal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: After starting behind the plate in five of the past six games, Grandal will get a breather in the series finale in Atlanta. The Pirates brought back Joey Bart (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Sunday and will put him to work right away, as he'll fill in at catcher while Grandal rests. • Clubs homer Saturday
Wells went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in a 9-3 loss to Toronto on Saturday.

Advice: The Yankees got beat pretty soundly Saturday, so Wells' two-run blast in the ninth inning didn't make much of an impact on the outcome. However, it was a positive development for the catcher's stat line after he had gone just 3-for-18 at the plate over his previous nine games. Wells is slashing a modest .213/.304/.346 with three homers, 13 RBI, 18 runs and a stolen base on the campaign. Over New York's past six contests, Jose Trevino has started four times to Wells' two starts, but the tide may be shifting with Wells getting his second straight start Sunday.
