    • Fraley plates three as Reds defeat Yankees
Jake Fraley drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 with a triple Thursday against the Yankees.

Advice: All three runs were driven in on the triple, and it extended the Cincinnati lead to 8-2 in the seventh inning. The 29-year-old hasn’t shown much power in 2024 with just a .356 slugging mark, but his .278 average and .333 on-base percentage are nothing to sneeze at. Expect more pop from Fraley in the second half of the season. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Idle Thursday
Rutschman isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Rutschman will get a day to regroup Thursday after being held hitless in 13 at-bats over his last four games. James McCann will instead get the nod to start at catcher while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am
    • Out of Thursday's lineup
Merrifield is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Merrifield has gone 4-for-23 over his past 11 contests and will hit the bench for Thursday's series finale in Chicago. Brandon March, Johan Rojas and David Dahl will start from left to right in the outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 9:56 am

    • Return before break not ruled out
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Thursday that Realmuto (knee) is working out at 70-to-75 percent intensity, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Advice: Realmuto is three weeks removed from right meniscus surgery and is progressing nicely. The club is not ruling out a return for their starting catcher prior to the All-Star break if he proves to be ready by then, but it's probably more likely that Realmuto is held out until the start of the second half. • Lasts just four innings Wednesday
Pepiot (4-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Royals, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks in four innings. He did not strike out a batter.

Advice: Pepiot made it through the first two innings unscathed, but the Royals got to him for two runs in the third on a couple of hits. He made quick work in the fourth but was replaced after throwing 87 pitches. The Rays offense mustered up just two runs, leaving Pepiot in line for the loss. His last win came back on June 4 against Miami. Pepiot also has never had less than two strikeouts, starting or relieving in any MLB game before having zero Wednesday. It was another short start for the 26-year-old, who hasn't reached six innings in each of his last four starts. Pepiot will take a 4.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 83:28 K:BB (75.2 IP) into a start against the Yankees next week. Rotowire.com Today, 8:27 am

    • Day of rest Thursday
Stephenson is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Stephenson was behind the dish for the first two games of the series, so it makes sense to give him a breather for Thursday's matinee. Luke Maile will do the catching for Frankie Montas. Rotowire.com Today, 8:19 am
    • Settles for no-decision Wednesday
Blanco allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Toronto on Wednesday.

Advice: Blanco fared fine after giving up six runs (three earned) in his previous outing, though fantasy managers in leagues that count quality starts will no doubt be disappointed that he was pulled one out shy. That hook may have also cost the right-hander a victory, as he had a one-run lead when he was relieved by Tayler Scott, who promptly gave up a single to allow the tying run to cross the plate. While Blanco has posted a modest 8.2 K/9 on the campaign, his overall numbers are strong -- he's recorded a 2.53 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 96 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 12:35 am

    • Big effort in win
Greene went 3-for-4 with a triple, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Greene was an offensive force as he recorded his 16th home run of the season and pushed his OPS up to .851. The 23-year-old had already surpassed his previous career best of 11 home runs in a season, and he's now up to a career-high 43 RBI this year as well after Wednesday's effort. Greene could be closing in on his first All-Star appearance, but at the very least he's been a strong fantasy asset who continues to trend upward given his promising skill set. • Swipes bag Wednesday
Merrifield went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Merrifield has two steals over his last six contests, but he's gone just 4-for-23 at the plate over his last 11 games. The infielder has recorded 20-plus steals five times in his first eight major-league campaigns, but his smaller role and lackluster ability to get on base in 2024 has put a damper on his speed contributions. He's slashing .190/.277/.282 with eight steals, three home runs, 10 RBI and 19 runs scored over 160 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 pm
