    • Josh Smith homers in win
Josh Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Smith took Sam Long deep 383 feet at 102.2 mph for his seventh home run on the season. The 26-year-old has been brilliant filling in for Josh Jung, hitting .303/.391/.478 on the year. Considering his ability to play all over the field, he should be able to fight for consistent playing time even when Jung returns. Provided he keeps hitting like this. • Expects to be out four weeks
Stanton said Sunday that he expects to be out for roughly four weeks as a result of his strained left hamstring, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Advice: Stanton landed on the 10-day injured list Sunday and received a platelet-rich plasma injection to aid in his healing process, but it doesn't seem like the slugging outfielder is on track for a speedy recovery. Trent Grisham could be a candidate to start nearly everyday for the Yankees while Stanton is sidelined, especially if the team decides to use Aaron Judge as its primary designated hitter going forward. • Stanton diagnosed with mild hamstring strain
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday’s game that Giancarlo Stanton was diagnosed with a mild left hamstring strain.

Advice: The 34-year-old slugger received a PRP injection on Sunday as well and told reporters that he expects to spend around four weeks on the injured list. That leaves a gaping hole in the middle of the lineup that the Yankees will need to fill for the next month or so. In 69 games on the season, Stanton has hit a respectable .246/.302/.492 with 18 homers and 45 RBI. Rotoworld Jun 23, 1:05 pm

    • Idle Sunday
Chourio isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Chourio will get a chance to clear his head Sunday after going 3-for-17 with four RBI and two runs scored over his last five games. Sal Frelick, Blake Perkins and Jake Bauers will start across the Brewers' outfield while Christian Yelich serves as the DH. Rotowire.com Jun 23, 11:06 am
    • Not starting Sunday
Joe isn't in the Pirates' lineup Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Advice: Joe will sit out a second consecutive game Sunday following an 0-for-13 stretch spanning his last four contests, prompting another start in right field for Edward Olivares. Rotowire.com Jun 23, 9:00 am

    • Placed on IL with hamstring strain
The Yankees placed Stanton on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Stanton exited in the fourth inning of Saturday's 8-3 win over Atlanta after injuring his left hamstring while scoring from second base on a Gleyber Torres double. Trent Grisham came off the bench to replace Stanton on Saturday, and the former could be in line for a near-everyday role in the outfield against right-handed pitching while the Yankees perhaps look to give Aaron Judge and others more time at designated hitter sans Stanton. With Stanton on the IL, the Yankees recalled infielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Jun 23, 7:12 am

    • Giancarlo Stanton lands on IL with hamstring strain
Yankees placed OF Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Stanton is slated to undergo an MRI on Sunday to determine the severity and how much time he’ll likely wind up sidelined. Fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least a few weeks, even if it’s a low-grade strain. The 34-year-old slugger, who has 18 homers in 69 games this season, suffered the injury during Saturday’s contest against the Braves. The timing is extremely unfortunate for the Yankees, and fantasy managers, as there isn’t a clear replacement for him at the moment with top prospect Jasson Domínguez on the shelf at Triple-A due to an oblique strain. • Back at third base for now
Smith started at third base and went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-0 win over Kansas City.

Advice: Smith made a second consecutive start in the field after serving as a designated hitter for a pair of games. He had been dealing with a hamstring injury that forced him to miss four games before returning as the DH. Now that he's back in the field, the question becomes how long he will be there. Third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) rejoined the team Friday and will take live batting practice Tuesday. If all goes well, Jung could be activated off the 60-day injured list afterward. The Rangers would like to keep Smith's bat in the lineup; he's batting .304/.393/.469 over a career-high 259 plate appearances. The lefty hitter could serve as the primary DH; he owns an .857 OPS against lefties and an .863 OPS against righties this season. Rotowire.com Jun 23, 4:36 am

    • Giancarlo Stanton leaves game with hamstring issue
Giancarlo Stanton was removed from Saturday night’s battle against the Braves due to tightness in his left hamstring.

Advice: The 34-year-old slugger is set to undergo an MRI exam on Sunday to determine the severity of the injury. This is the type of situation that fantasy managers had been waiting for when Jasson Dominguez was tearing it up at Triple-A but had nowhere to play, but now that he’s on the injured list at Triple-A it’s unclear what they would do if Stanton was forced to miss substantial time. Trent Grisham replaced him on Saturday night and wound up swatting a solo homer. Rotoworld Jun 22, 7:33 pm
