      Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Tuesday that Kiner-Falefa is going to require more than a minimum stay on the injured list after suffering a right knee sprain.     • Jack Flaherty not starting Wednesday vs. Twins
      Jack Flaherty will not make his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Twins due to an ongoing back issue.

      Advice: Flaherty remained back in Los Angeles following last Thursday’s lackluster start against the Angels where he allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings to receive a pain-reducing injection in his back. The 28-year-old righty, who has been excellent this season in his Detroit debut, is expected to take the ball next week against the Twins. It doesn’t sound like he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but back issues can be complicated matters and could certainly impact his on-field performance moving forward. The 25-year-old fantasy stalwart has been sizzling-hot at the dish over the last few weeks, batting .365 (23-for-63) with six homers and 20 RBI over his last 15 games.     • MacKenzie Gore denied win after strong showing
      MacKenzie Gore allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings and struck out eight Monday against the Mets.

      Advice: Gore was at 104 pitches, so it’s kind or understandable that he was pulled in the sixth. Still, he seemed to be very much in control at that point. He’d given up just a soft single before rebounding to retire the next two batters in the sixth. The Nationals pulled him with a 2-0 lead in favor of Derek Law, and the Mets, aided by a CJ Abrams error, went on to score three runs in the frame.
