    • Tanner Scott collects 11th save on Thursday
      Tanner Scott tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Phillies to notch his 11th save of the season.

      Advice: Scott was summoned to protect a three-run lead against the division-rival Phillies and set down the side in order on just nine pitches (six strikes). The 29-year-old lefty has converted 11 of 13 save opportunities to accompany a 1.54 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 36/23 K/BB ratio across 35 innings (34 appearances).     • Jordan Hicks strikes out seven, allows three vs. Cubs
      Jordan Hicks gave up three runs in five innings while striking out seven against the Cubs on Thursday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.

      Advice: All three runs were given up in the third, as he gave up a two-run homer to Nico Hoerner and an RBI triple to Seiya Suzuki. The right-hander was strong outside of that frame while showing off his swing-and-miss stuff.       Scott earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Kansas City, pitching a scoreless inning while allowing one hit.

      Advice: Scott worked around a single yielded to Salvador Perez and subsequent pinch-run stolen base by Dairon Blanco to secure double-digit saves for the third consecutive season. The left-handed closer has been especially stingy since May 1, producing a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 21.1 innings.     • Tanner Scott picks up 10th save vs. Royals
      Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Royals.

      Advice: Scott allowed a one-out single to Salvador Perez in the ninth but went on to retire the next two batters he faced. The veteran lefty now has 10 saves on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.59 on the season.       McArthur earned a save against the Marlins on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

      Advice: McArthur entered in the ninth frame with Kansas City up by three runs and made quick work of Miami, retiring the side in order on 10 pitches. That netted him his first save since June 6 and his 13th overall this season. McArthur's 18-day span between saves was of no fault of his own -- he didn't see any save opportunities during that stretch, and the only save by any KC pitcher during that period came in a game during which McArthur was used in a high-leverage spot and ended up with the victory.       Fairbanks earned his 12th save of the season Monday against Seattle, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Fairbanks picked up his second save in as many days, totaling three strikeouts while not allowing a single baserunner.       James McArthur tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Monday.

      Advice: The save was McArthur’s 13th of the season. He’s been a little shaky this season with a 4.70 ERA, but the Royals don’t necessarily have a better option to turn to for saves. It was just McArthur’s second save in the month of June, but it looks like the Royals will continue to lean on him when the opportunity arises. Rotoworld Monday, 7:45 pm
       
    • Pete Fairbanks silences M’s to net 12th save
      Pete Fairbanks struck out two in a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Mariners to record his 12th save of the season.

      Advice: Fairbanks got the call to protect a one-run lead in the final frame after Tampa Bay erased a one-run deficit in the eighth inning and needed just 10 pitches (nine strikes) to slam the door. It was his second straight perfect outing after an ugly blown save last week against the Twins. He’s converted 12 of his 14 save chances this season to accompany a 3.25 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 30/12 K/BB ratio across 27 2/3 innings (28 appearances). Rotoworld Monday, 7:41 pm

      Scott allowed two hits and a walk in a scoreless inning Sunday, striking out one and earning a save over the Mariners.

      Advice: Scott loaded the bases with two outs but managed to finish off the 6-4 win unscathed. He tossed 16 of 22 pitches for strikes and notched his first save since Jun 11.
