      Ke’Bryan Hayes went 2-for-4 and belted a two-run homer on Saturday, powering the Pirates to a lopsided 8-1 victory over the Blue Jays in Toronto.

      Advice: Hayes put the exclamation point on a three-run first inning for the Pirates with his 404-foot (107.8 mph EV) two-run blast off of Yusei Kikuchi.       Advice: Singer was scratched from his last scheduled start Thursday versus the Twins due to an illness, but he now appears to be on track to return to the mound relatively soon. The right-hander is in the midst of a career year with Kansas City, producing a 2.63 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 64 strikeouts over 61.2 innings in his first 11 starts of 2024. Crawford and extend the Mariners' lead to 4-0 at the time. Raleigh had been mired in a 1-for-17 funk over the previous six games, however, and he's recorded just a sole extra-base hit over the 43 plate appearances spanning his last 12 games after lacing 14 over his first 41 contests of the campaign.       Mariners manager Scott Servais said late Friday that Bryan Woo (arm) is expected to make his next start.

      Advice: Servais told reporters Woo was lifted after just 66 pitches since he’s been dealing with some “arm-stuff” and didn’t throw his usual between-starts bullpen session earlier this week. No word on the specific issue Woo is dealing with, but it doesn’t sound serious. It appears likely Seattle is merely exercising some caution with the 24-year-old righty, who has been phenomenal when healthy this season, but there’s zero indication that he’ll miss his next start on Thursday against the Athletics.       Advice: Woo needed just 66 pitches (47 strikes) to complete six frames, but that was all for his start. Trent Thornton and Tayler Saucedo combined to allow four runs in the seventh inning, wiping out the Mariners' lead and Woo's chance to earn his third win of the year, but this was still a stellar outing for the 24-year-old. He's now at a 1.30 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 28:2 K:BB over 27.2 innings across five starts. The Mariners continue to manage his pitch count, but he's completed six innings in each of his last three starts thanks to his efficiency. Woo is projected for a road start in Oakland next week.
