      Advice: The 36-year-old hurler picked up his 18th save of the season for his troubles. He made quick work of the Yankees in this one, getting Ben Rice on a ground ball to first, Juan Soto on a liner to left and Aaron Judge on a swinging third strike to end it.       Littell (3-6) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Rangers on Sunday.

      Advice: Littell mostly had things under control until the Rangers erupted for six runs in the fourth inning. He left with a 7-2 deficit, and the Rangers continued to find success against the Rays' bullpen, leaving Littell to take his first loss in four starts. He's had one bad outing in each month of the season, but he's given up four or more runs just four times in 18 starts. The right-hander has a 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 91:17 K:BB through 95.1 innings.       Craig Kimbrel recorded his 23rd save Sunday with a scoreless ninth against the A’s.

      Advice: Kimbrel has been denied a 10th career All-Star nod, at least for now. His 2.10 ERA seemed worthy, and it’s sort of a surprise that Clay Holmes was picked over him, something that would have been more justifiable a couple of weeks ago.       Heim went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, an additional RBI and three total runs scored in Sunday's 13-2 win over the Rays.

      Advice: Heim tied the game with an RBI single in the fourth inning before adding a solo shot in the sixth. The catcher has gone 15-for-41 (.366) with two homers, four RBI and eight runs scored over his last 12 contests.       Advice: Littell has been inconsistent in his first season as a starter and now has a 4.44 ERA on the year. His name has been mentioned in trade rumors with the Rays looking like sellers, but it’s also possible that the Rays decide to move Littell back into a long relief role with Jeffrey Springs nearing a return to the MLB rotation.       Cody Bellinger went 0-for-4 for a second straight game Sunday against the Angels.

      Advice: Bellinger’s batting average has been holding steady, but he has just one homer and six doubles since the beginning of June. In his first 43 games this season, he hit .267/.332/.471 with 26 RBI. In his last 34 games, he’s come in at .265/.319/.333 with 11 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 2:12 pm

    • Set to return from IL on Tuesday
      The Giants will reinstate Snell (groin) from the 15-day injured list and have him start Tuesday versus the Blue Jays in San Francisco, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

      Advice: As he prepares for his first start with the Giants since June following his second IL stint of the season, Snell will be taking the hill on five days' rest. The southpaw endured some bumps in the road in the first of his two rehab outings in his return from a left groin strain, but he was utterly dominant in his final start for Sacramento on Wednesday, tossing five no-hit, shutout innings while striking out nine. He'll tentatively line up for two starts during the upcoming week, with his second outing set to fall next Sunday versus the Twins in the Giants' final game before the All-Star break.       Pirates general manager Ben Cherington told reporters Sunday that Jared Jones (lat) return from the injured list will be in “weeks, not days.”

      Advice: That’s not a huge surprise, but still a bit alarming to hear at the same time. Cherington did express optimism that Jones can pitch again in 2024, but the Grade 2 lat sprain will keep him out of action for the foreseeable future with the team already announcing Friday he won’t throw for the next two weeks.
