Logan Gilbert goes seven scoreless in no-decision
Logan Gilbert shut out the Angels for seven innings, striking out nine, in a no-decision Sunday.
Advice: Gilbert allowed just two hits before leaving with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, it disappeared immediately in the eighth, as Ryne Stanek hurt himself on a leadoff walk and Austin Voth went on to give up a three-run homer to take a loss. It’s the fifth time this season that Gilbert has gone without allowing a run. He’s a worthy All-Star as he finishes the first half with a 2.79 ERA, but he won’t get to pitch in the game after working today.
