• Emmanuel Rodriguez steals two bases Friday at AA
Twins OF prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez stole two bases on Friday for Double-A Wichita.

Advice: Rodriguez is off to a phenomenal start this season in the upper minors at just 21 years old and figures to continue rocketing up dynasty rankings. He’s batting .289 (11-for-38) with four homers and six stolen bases through 12 contests for Double-A Wichita. He still has some contact issues to iron out, but it’s worth noting that he’s excelling in a tough enviroment for hitters, especially at the outset of the year when the weather isn’t exactly idylic. • Heston Kjerstad hits two more homers Friday at AAA
Orioles OF prospect Heston Kjerstad went 3-for-5 with two solo homers on Friday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: This is getting ridiculous. Kjerstad connected for a pair of homers to notch his third multi-homer performance through 19 contests for Triple-A Norfolk. The 25-year-old slugger is batting a surreal .359 (28-for-78) with 10 home runs, 30 RBI and one stolen base so far. It’s unclear what else he has to prove in the upper minors and should get an extended opportunity with Baltimore in short order. He’s a worthwhile stash in all fantasy formats as a potential four-category contributor, if everything breaks right. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago
  • Sem Robberse lowers ERA to 1.59 on Friday at AAA
Cardinals RHP prospect Sem Robberse struck out nine and allowed one run (zero earned) over eight innings on Friday for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Robberse has been excellent at the outset of the season, posting a microscopic 1.59 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 23/6 K/BB ratio across 22 2/3 innings (four starts) for Triple-A Memphis. The 22-year-old righty was acquired last year in the Jordan Hicks trade with the Blue Jays and could be an option for St. Louis at some point in the near future, especially if he keeps pitching well. • Orelvis Martinez crushes two homers Friday at AAA
Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez launched two homers on Friday for Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Martinez has been on a heater over the last few days, going deep in three consecutive contests, and is up to five round-trippers in his last five games since April 14. The former top prospect’s star has faded in recent years, but he’s still just 22 years old, and appears to be on the precipice of arriving in the majors, especially if he keeps tearing the cover off the ball. • Vaughn Grissom hitting .154 on rehab assignment
Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) doubled Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Grissom has gotten off to a slow start on his rehab assignment, batting .154 (2-for-13) with one extra-base hit and four strikeouts through four contests at the Triple-A level. The 23-year-old appears primed to take over as Boston’s starting second baseman, with the occasional cameo at shortstop, once he’s ready to return after opening the season on the injured list with a left hamstring strain. • Josh Lowe (oblique) kicks off rehab assignment
Josh Lowe (oblique) went 0-for-3 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Lowe got through nine innings in center field on Friday evening after his scheduled rehab debut was rained out on Thursday. He figures to get in a couple additional contests this weekend for Triple-A Durham. It’s notable that he’s getting work in center field and he could be an option at the position over José Siri once he’s ready to return. The 26-year-old fantasy standout has been on the shelf since late February due to an oblique strain. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 am

  • Randy Vásquez starting Saturday against Blue Jays
Randy Vásquez will start on Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Vásquez will make his Padres debut on Saturday evening at Petco Park against Toronto taking the place of an injured Yu Darvish. The 25-year-old righty has been hit hard in a trio of starts this season for Triple-A El Paso, but held his own last year in 11 appearances (five starts) for the Yankees in his major-league debut. • Braxton Garrett (shoulder) resumes throwing
Braxton Garrett (shoulder) has resumed throwing.

Advice: Garrett is expected to progress to a bullpen session soon after resuming flat-ground throwing from 90 feet earlier this week. The 26-year-old lefty was temporarily shut down earlier this month after experiencing a dead arm during a throwing session. He’s been on the shelf since spring training due to a left shoulder impingement and is several weeks away from his potential season debut. Rotoworld Today, 3:49 am

  • Francisco Alvarez undergoing MRI on left thumb
Francisco Alvarez will undergo an MRI on his left thumb following an early exit from Friday’s series opener against the Dodgers.

Advice: “I’m pretty concerned,” Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters following Alvarez’s departure from Friday’s showdown in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old emerging franchise cornerstone, who has been playing through a ton of minor physical issues already this season, suffered the apparent left thumb injury during the second inning of Friday’s contest when he stumbled while rounding first base. There should be an update on his status at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 3:40 am
