  • Abrams has three-hit game Saturday
    CJ Abrams went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI against the Phillies on Saturday.

    Advice: Abrams scored the first run of the game on Joey Meneses’ RBI single in the first inning and gave the Nationals a 2-1 lead with an RBI single of his own in the fifth inning. He has struggled since his hot start to the season, but has his average up to .271 after the three hits on Saturday.   • Freeman has four-hit game Saturday
    Tyler Freeman went 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base against the Twins on Saturday.



    Advice: Freeman continues to occupy the leadoff spot for Cleveland despite a .221 average. The stolen base was his sixth of the season. It was a huge game for Freeman, who remains merely a deep league option.

    The Cubs expect to reinstate Swanson (knee) from the injured list Tuesday, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Swanson took live batting practice Friday for the first time since landing on the injured list May 10 with a right knee injury, and he appears to be trending toward a return shortly after the minimum 10 days. He will reclaim his role as Chicago's everyday shortstop once he returns, though the 30-year-old infielder had gone just 1-for-18 with a solo home run in his last six games prior to landing on the IL.     Peraza (shoulder) was transferred to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to continue his rehab assignment Saturday.

    Advice: Peraza went 2-for-16 with two solo home runs, four runs scored and a stolen base over 16 at-bats in five games with Double-A Somerset, and he'll now advance to the final step of his recovery from the shoulder injury he suffered in February.
