      Seiya Suzuki (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Iowa.

      Advice: Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters Suzuki is likely to return to Chicago’s lineup later this week on either Friday or Saturday when they take on the Pirates.     • Rehab stint starting Wednesday
      Suzuki (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reported Tuesday.

      Advice: Suzuki will begin the in-game portion of his rehab from a right oblique strain, a significant step in his recovery. Suzuki has been sidelined for around three weeks, and he could be back with the Cubs sometime this weekend, per Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network.       Kirby Yates earned his sixth save with a hitless ninth Monday against the Athletics.

      Advice: After settling for a win in a two-inning outing on Sunday, Yates was back closing tonight and had an easy time versus the A’s. David Roberson also pitched in a second straight game tonight, so the Rangers might need to think outside of the box if they have another lead Monday.     • Keeps rolling with another save
      Yates picked up a save against the A's on Monday, walking one batter in a scoreless inning of work.

      Advice: Yates got the ball with Texas holding a two-run lead in the ninth inning and walked the second batter he faced to bring the tying run to the plate. However, the veteran reliever got Brett Harris to line into a double play to end the contest and secure his sixth save. Yates still hasn't given up a run this season, and he's yielded just three hits over 15 innings.     • Coughs up three runs
      Castillo (3-5) yielded three runs on three hits over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Twins.

      Advice: Castillo fired four shutout frames before the Twins broke the scoreless tie in the fifth inning. He later was charged with two more runs in the seventh. Entering Monday's start, Castillo had turned in four straight outings with two or fewer earned runs allowed. He's factored into the decision in each of his eight starts and snapped his three-game winning streak Monday. Despite the up-and-down start to his season, Castillo has registered a solid 3.54 ERA with a 56:11 K:BB through 48.1 innings.       Anderson (2-4) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over 6.1 innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out five.

      Advice: Anderson allowed all four runs Monday night on one swing -- a 424-foot grand slam by Edward Olivares in the third inning. Although the Angels southpaw sports a 2.74 ERA in 42.2 innings, tougher times may lie ahead, as he has been aided greatly by a .205 BABIP.       Keller (3-3) allowed one run, five hits and one walk in a complete game victory Monday against the Angels. He struck out five.

      Advice: Keller stymied the Angels on Monday night en route to his second career complete game -- his first was a shutout May 8, 2023 against Colorado. The Pirates right-hander induced a whopping 64.0 percent groundball-rate, easily his highest in a start this season, outpacing the 37.5 percent rate he generated on the season prior to Monday.       Luis Castillo gave up three runs — two earned — over 6 2/3 innings in a loss Monday to the Twins.

      Advice: Castillo allowed just an unearned run over the first six, but two more crossed the plate in the seventh. The right-hander struck out seven against three walks, and it was another solid outing for the 31-year-old right-hander.
