    • Rangers officially call up Jack Leiter
Rangers selected the contract of RHP Jack Leiter from Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: It’s official. The 23-year-old right-hander will get his first major league start against the Tigers on Thursday. Leiter has made three appearances (two starts) at the Triple-A level this season where he’s posted a 4.40 ERA with an impressive 25/3 K/BB ratio. Rotoworld Today, 7:28 am

    • Called up ahead of MLB debut
The Rangers selected Leiter's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Advice: Leiter is set to start Thursday's game in Detroit in his MLB debut after posting a 3.77 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB across 14.1 innings with Round Rock to begin the season. The Rangers are seemingly planning for Leiter to make just one start before heading back to the minors, but he could change minds if he pitches well, particularly with Andrew Heaney's struggles. • Rare day off Thursday
Arozarena is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Angels.

Advice: Arozarena will get just his second day off this season while he's stuck in a 2-for-23 rut at the plate that has dropped his slash line to .174/.240/.275 for the season. While Arozarena rests, Harold Ramirez will pick up a start in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 6:57 am
    • Stays aggressive on basepaths
Arozarena went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: Arozarena hasn't had a good start at the plate, as he's hitting just .174 with two home runs across 75 plate appearances. When he has gotten on base, however, he's taken advantage as he's managed four stolen bases without being caught. Arozarena is also striking out at a fairly typical 25.3 percent clip, so there's not a significant reason to panic about his performance yet. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm
    • Twirls complete-game shutout
Houck improved to 3-1 in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Guardians, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out nine over nine shutout innings.

Advice: Houck was absurdly efficient in his first career complete-game shutout, needing just 94 pitches (69 strikes) to finish nine frames. He hasn't allowed a run in three of his four starts this season and has punched out seven or more in all but one start. He boasts a 1.35 ERA with a 28:2 K:BB over 26.2 innings in 2024, a massive jump from his 5.01 ERA from a season ago. Houck is tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the Guardians on Tuesday. • Tanner Houck tosses complete-game shutout in win
Tanner Houck struck out nine batters over nine scoreless innings in a complete game shutout win over the Guardians.

Advice: Houck was incredible Wednesday against the Guardians. He faced just two batters over the minimum, scattering three base hits with no walks. Houck had his slider working, generating 11 whiffs on the pitch and 19 total to strike out nine batters. The 27-year-old right-hander will look to build on the dominant performance when he takes a 1.35 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 28/2 K/BB ratio across 26 2/3 innings into a rematch against the Guardians in Cleveland next week. • Aaron Judge delivers go-ahead hit vs. Blue Jays
Aaron Judge delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the ninth inning on Wednesday, leading the Yankees to a 6-4 comeback victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Judge stepped to the plate to face Blue Jays lefty Tim Mayza with two outs in the ninth inning of a tie ballgame, and wound up coming through with an infield single down the left-field line that scored two runs on the play, putting New York ahead for good in this one. The 31-year-old former AL MVP’s ice-cold start at the dish has been well-documented so far, so he certainly needed a moment like this in a big spot. It was his lone hit in five at-bats, but Judge certainly came through when it mattered most. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:35 pm
    • Earns fourth save
McArthur earned the save in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, allowing one hit while recording a strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: After allowing four runs in his first three outings this season, McArthur's rebounded with six consecutive scoreless appearances as he improves to 4-for-5 in save chances with a 3.72 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 12:1 K:BB through his first 9.2 innings this year. While Will Smith could still see the occasional save chance against a string of left-handed batters, the 27-year-old McArthur appears to be the go-to closing option in Kansas City. • Lands on injured list
The Red Sox placed Whitlock on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left oblique strain, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Whitlock suffered the injury during Tuesday's start against the Guardians. Manager Alex Cora suggested that Whitlock is dealing with a low-grade strain, and the Red Sox are hopeful that the right-hander will be ready to return from the IL when first eligible. It's not yet clear who will take Whitlock's spot in the rotation, but Chase Anderson is a candidate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:59 pm
