Burger went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: The third baseman appears to be breaking out of his early season slump. Burger has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, slashing .333/.373/.479 over that stretch and going yard twice in the last four contests. His 31.4 percent strikeout rate during that time is still a concern, however. On the season, the 28-year-old is batting .228 with only six homers in 47 games, a far cry from the 34 in 141 games he slugged in 2023. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 am

    • Burger blasts sixth home run Thursday
Jake Burger went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Burger’s home run was just his sixth of the season in 47 games after homering 34 times in 141 games last year. His .128 ISO isn’t even half of the .268 ISO he had last year. On the bright side, he’s 21-for-64 (.328) with three home runs in his last 16 games to bring his average up to .222. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm

    • Getting breather Thursday
Senzel is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Senzel started each of the Nationals' last six contests, so he looks to be getting some maintenance as Washington and Detroit wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Ildemaro Vargas will fill in at third base for Senzel, who has gotten off to a nice start to June with a .265/.375/.471 slash line through his first 10 games of the month. • Jordan Westburg gets a day off on Wednesday
Jordan Westburg is not in the Orioles’ lineup against the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s a routine day off for the 25-year-old who has struggled to open the month of June, hitting .208/.224/.438 with two home runs, 11 strikeouts, and one walk in 11 games. Perhaps a day off will get him back on track. Jorge Mateo will move to second base with Ramon Urias at third base while Westburg is out. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:11 pm

    • Getting rest Wednesday
Westburg is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Westburg will retreat to the bench Wednesday for what appears to be a routine maintenance day after he had started in 11 consecutive games. His absence will open up a spot in the starting nine for Ramon Urias, who will get the nod at third base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:57 am

    • Salvages day with late homer
Burger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Burger went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his first three plate appearances Sunday but flipped his production in the ninth inning with a solo homer off Emmanuel Clase. The long ball was his fifth of the year and just his second in 31 games. On the season, Burger owns a .597 OPS but is striking out at a 24.4 percent clip, which would be a career low if it holds. • Homer short of cycle
Westburg went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and two runs scored during Sunday's 9-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Westburg hit a triple for the second consecutive game, bringing his season total to five triples -- tied for the fourth-most in baseball. The third baseman did most of his damage against the bullpen, with his triple coming off Phil Maton in the eighth inning and his final hit (a single) coming off Pete Fairbanks in the ninth. Westburg is 6-for-14 with a homer, three RBI and three runs over the first three games of the O's four-game set against Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:56 pm

    • Homer, three hits in win
Senzel went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, three total RBI and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Senzel extended the Nationals' lead to 4-0 with an RBI double in the fourth inning, his second two-bagger of the day, before blasting a two-run homer off Dylan Lee in the sixth. It's the first three-hit game of the year for Senzel, who'd gone 0-for-10 in his previous three contests. The 28-year-old Senzel is now slashing .243/.352/.441 with six homers, 16 RBI and 18 runs scored across 43 games while holding down the regular third-base job in Washington. • Nick Senzel collects three hits, homers vs. Braves
Nick Senzel went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk to lead the Nationals to a 7-3 win over the Braves on Saturday.

Advice: Senzel was perfect at the plate on Saturday, starting with a double to lead off the second. He’d come around to score on a base hit by CJ Abrams. Senzel then doubled in the fourth to plate bring a run in before launching a two-run homer off Dylan Lee in the sixth. He drew a walk in the eighth to reach in all four plate appearances. The 28-year-old third baseman is hitting a respectable .243/.352/.441 with six homers, 16 RBI, and one steal across 160 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:44 pm
