Brandon Moss went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run in Monday's 5-1 victory over the Rangers.
Advice: And boy did he need it. Moss went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Mariners, continuing a cold month. He entered the game with a .156 average and one homer in May. Moss had a nice start to the season, but has seen his slash line fall to .260/.355/.447 over 141 plate appearances.

Tyler Chatwood is expected to be recalled to start Sunday against the Giants in place of the injured Jeff Francis (groin).
Advice: Chatwood tossed six shutout innings in his second start with the Rockies late last month, so it's not a surprise that he's getting the call. He's also had a great year at Triple-A Colorado Springs, posting a 3.14 ERA and 29/5 K/BB ratio over 28 2/3 innings. The righty could stick around for at least a couple starts.

Bryce Harper (nausea, shoulder, knee) is also dealing with a sore rib cage.
Advice: Harper didn't report the soreness in his rib cage on Tuesday. In addition to the rib cage soreness, he's also battling a sore shoulder, sore knee and nausea as a result of Monday's collision with the wall. He was able to work out some prior to Wednesday's game, though, and remains day-to-day.

Angels designated RHP Barry Enright for assignment.
Advice: Enright has really struggled with the big club this season, allowing 12 runs on 12 hits and seven walks over 8 1/3 innings. There's a chance he'll pass through waivers unclaimed.

Mark Ellis (quad) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Chattanooga on Friday.
Advice: Ellis tested out his quad by running before Tuesday's game, and it evidently went well. He should be back sometime next week as long as he can avoid a setback.

Sergio Santos will have surgery to remove bone chips and spurs from his right elbow.
Advice: Santos had been nearing a minor league rehab assignment, but the discomfort in his elbow has suddenly returned. The surgery isn't expected to end his season, but it's unlikely he'll make it back until the second half.

Adam Dunn homered twice, doubled and knocked in five runs to lead the White Sox to a 9-4 win over the Twins on Wednesday.
Advice: Dunn is terribly sad to see the series against the Twins come to an end. He hit three homers in the three games, and he could have had a fourth if Aaron Hicks hadn't gone over the fence to rob him on Monday. Hopefully for the White Sox, he'll stay hot in a four-game series in Anaheim this weekend. It doesn't seem all that likely, though; he's hit .228 with just two homers in 92 at-bats against Angels pitching in his career.

Brian Roberts (hamstring) has begun riding a stationary bike at the Orioles' spring training complex.
Advice: Roberts underwent surgery last Thursday to repair a ruptured tendon in the back of his right knee. He is expected to be on the shelf for at least the next six weeks.

CC Sabathia struck out 10 Mariners batters but was left with a no-decision in Tuesday's 4-3 win.
Advice: Sabathia allowed three runs -- two earned -- on 10 hits and two walks. The big left-hander departed in the seventh with two on and a 3-1 deficit, but Shawn Kelley got him out of that jam and the offense plated three runs in the seventh to get Sabathia off the hook. He'll take a 3.19 ERA and 1.28 WHIP into Sunday's start against the Blue Jays.

Jacoby Ellsbury went 0-for-5 on Thursday, dropping his average to .249.
Advice: Ellsbury is in a 6-for-46 slump, and he's swiped just one base in May after stealing 11 in April. We wouldn't expect this to continue, but his fantasy value has dipped somewhat, as it appears that there's not much chance of his home run power coming back this year.

Rays recalled LHP Alex Torres from Triple-A Durham.
Advice: Torres will pitch out of the bullpen until the Rays need a starter to replace David Price, who hit the disabled list Thursday with a strained left triceps muscle. Torres had a 2.39 ERA in 37 2/3 innings at Triple-A.

Michael Cuddyer (neck) isn't sure he'll be ready for activation from the disabled list on May 24 when first eligible.
Advice: "I was still pretty locked up yesterday after the epidural, but I'm feeling a little better today," Cuddyer said Thursday. The outfielder is still a few days away from resuming baseball activities. A clearer picture of his timetable should be known at that time.

Willie Bloomquist (oblique) will play in an extended spring training on Thursday.
Advice: He'll play in 1-2 extended spring games before beginning a rehab assignment if all goes well. Barring another setback, Bloomquist should be ready for activation before the end of the month.

Huston Street earned his ninth save of the year Tuesday as the Padres beat the Orioles 3-2.
Advice: The Padres were trailing 2-1 heading into the top of the ninth inning but managed a rare two-run rally against Orioles closer Jim Johnson. Street then shut the O's down in the bottom of the ninth. He owns a weak 4.60 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 15 2/3 innings this season but still carries very good job security.
