    • Picks up fifth win
Greene (5-2) allowed two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Greene coughed up a solo homer to William Contreras in the third before Milwaukee scratched across another run in the fifth. Greene generated 14 swinging strikes but struggled with his command, matching his season high with five walks. He needed 105 pitches to complete five frames. Greene is sporting a 3.61 ERA with an 89:37 K:BB through 14 starts this season. His next outing is lined up to be in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
    • Ranger Suárez allows just one run against Orioles
Ranger Suárez scattered six hits across 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision on Friday against the Orioles. He struck out six, walked two, and allowed one earned run.

Advice: Relative to the rest of his season, this was a difficult start for Suárez and he still allowed just one run against one of the best offenses in baseball. He kept the ball down, mixed all five of his pitches, and hit his spots when he needed to. Especially tough on lefties, he made Gunnar Henderson look as frustrated as he’s been all season with two nasty punch outs. Suárez’s Cy Young campaign will march on next week against the Padres. • Jackson Merrill with another home run
Jackson Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo homer Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Merrill’s home run was impressive: off lefty Sean Manaea to straight away center through the rain at Citi Field. It was another notable moment in what’s been a great rookie season for the 20-year-old. He has a .280/.314/.401 slash line with six home runs and nine stolen bases while learning center field on the fly. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 pm

    • Strikes out 10
Gore (6-5) earned the win Friday over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: Gore was excellent Friday, holding Miami to a lone second-inning run en route to his fourth win in his last five starts. It's the third double-digit strikeout outing for Gore this year as he lowered his ERA to 3.24 with a 1.32 WHIP and 91:23 K:BB through 14 starts (75 innings) this season. The left-hander is currently in line for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks in his next outing. Rotowire.com Today, 6:42 pm
    • MacKenzie Gore strikes out 10 in seven innings
MacKenzie Gore struck out 10 Marlins across seven innings in an 8-1 win on Friday night. He allowed just one earned run and walked one batter. He earned the win.

Advice: Gore was downright dazzling in this one. He challenged the Marlins again and again with his fastball high in the zone and they swung and missed at it 12 times in 35 tries. His heater is special sitting 96 MPH from the left side with tons of ride. He’s put an emphasis on throwing it up in the zone this season and that has helped him reach new heights. This was his third start so far with double-digit punch outs and he’s allowed more than three earned runs just once. His breakout is indisputable at this point. Rotoworld Today, 6:13 pm
    • Scratched Friday
Cruz was scratched from the Pirates' lineup ahead of Friday's game versus Colorado due to left ankle soreness, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Cruz was initially slated to start at shortstop during Friday's series opener, but it will instead be Jared Triolo making his first career start at short while Cruz takes a day to recover from a tweaked ankle he suffered during Thursday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 5:12 pm

    • Oneil Cruz (ankle) scratched from lineup on Friday
Oneil Cruz was scratched from the Pirates’ starting lineup on Friday night due to a sore ankle.

Advice: Cruz tweaked his ankle again while running the bases during Thursday’s game and just wasn’t quite ready to give it a go on Friday night. He’s considered day-to-day. Jared Triolo will start in his place at shortstop and bat eighth for the Pirates at Coors Field on Friday evening. Rotoworld Today, 5:08 pm

    • Escapes jam for hold
Robertson allowed one hit, hit a batter and struck out three over a scoreless eighth inning Thursday, earning a hold in a 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Robertson put the first two batters he faced aboard, setting up a rematch with the top of the Dodgers' lineup after he had struck out Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman on Wednesday to preserve a Texas lead. Robertson proceeded to do the same exact thing Thursday. The veteran reliever has 14 holds this season to go with a 3.19 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 36.2 percent strikeout rate, his highest mark since 2017. • Suzuki swipes fifth base in loss Thursday
Seiya Suzuki went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base on Thursday.

Advice: Suzuki missed a couple of games last week with tightness in his side, but seemed to be feeling better in this one as evidenced by the stolen base. It was his fifth steal in 43 games this season. He had only six steals in 138 games with the Cubs last season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:34 pm
