    • Fills in at shortstop
Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Sunday's 11-2 win over Baltimore.

Advice: Smith got the start at shortstop with Corey Seager (wrist) day-to-day. Seager was hit by a pitch during Saturday's game and, although X-rays came back negative, took a seat for the series finale against the Orioles. The Rangers are off Monday, giving Seager another 24 hours of healing, before a three-game set against the Padres. Once Seager is deemed healthy enough to return to shortstop, Smith will head back to third base, where he will continue to fill in for the injured Josh Jung (wrist). Rotowire.com Today, 5:18 am
    • Henry Davis (concussion) sees rehab stint paused
Henry Davis is having his rehab stint put on hold as he attempts to return from a concussion.

Advice: Davis was 0-for-6 with five strikeouts since joining Double-A Altoona on Wednesday. Expectations are that he’ll be optioned to Triple-A once healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:21 pm

    • Zach Neto demolishes three-run homer in loss
Zach Neto crushed a three-run homer on Sunday in the Angels’ loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Neto kick-started a ninth-inning rally for the Angels on Sunday afternoon that came up just short as they nearly erased a six-run deficit with five runs in the final frame. Neto played a pivotal role in the comeback with a 414-foot moonshot -- his 11th big fly of the season -- off Tigers reliever Shelby Miller. The 23-year-old former top prospect is quietly putting together an impressive full-season debut with a .738 OPS to go along with 11 homers and 11 steals in 300 plate appearances over 81 games. • Tyler Holton steps in to record one-out save
Tyler Holton recorded a one-out save on Sunday against the Angels.

Advice: Holton got the call to record the final out of Sunday’s showdown against the Angels after Shelby Miller unexpectedly melted down in spectacular fashion, nearly blowing a six-run lead by giving up a three-run homer to Zach Neto and a two-run dinger to Jo Adell before being mercifully lifted. Fortunately, Holton was able to come on and strike out Nolan Schanuel to put out the fire and end the contest. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:05 pm
    • Tyler Anderson hit hard Sunday in loss to Tigers
Tyler Anderson was lit up for six runs over 4 2/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Anderson was shelled for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Tigers rookie Justyn-Henry Malloy. He finished with just two strikeouts and only issued one walk. The 34-year-old southpaw has experienced some significant pullback in the run-prevention department over the last few weeks as his ERA has ballooned from 2.47 back on May 29 to a more league-average 3.03 mark by the end of June. He’ll square off against the Cubs on Saturday at Wrigley Field his next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:04 pm
    • Christian Walker plates two in victory over A’s
Christian Walker went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Sunday, propelling the Diamondbacks to a 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Walker kicked off the scoring in the fourth inning with a run-scoring single against Oakland starter Luis Medina before extending Arizona’s lead a couple frames later with another run-scoring single as part of a three-hit effort. The 33-year-old veteran first baseman remains a reliable source of over-the-fence pop and counting stats as he’s up to 17 homers and 53 RBI this season leading up to the All-Star break. • Zack Gelof hits ninth homer in loss to D-backs
Zack Gelof blasted a solo homer on Sunday in the Athletics’ loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gelof took Arizona starter Brandon Pfaadt deep to right-center field in the fifth inning for his ninth round-tripper of the season. The 24-year-old got off to an excruciatingly-slow start this season at the dish, but has come alive a little bit over the last few weeks, batting .259 with four homers and two steals in his last 15 games. • Brandon Pfaadt strikes out eight Sunday vs. A’s
Brandon Pfaadt recorded eight strikeouts and yielded one run over six innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Athletics.

Advice: Pfaadt carried a shutout into the fifth inning on Sunday afternoon at Chase Field before coughing up a solo shot to Zack Gelof, which represented the lone tally against him in a low-scoring affair. He generated 13 swinging strikes, utilizing his entire five-pitch arsenal in this one, and finished with a near-elite 37 percent CSW. It was the type of outing fantasy managers have been expecting more consistently this season from the 25-year-old hurler on the heels of last year’s stellar postseason run. He’ll carry a respectable 4.28 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 94/26 K/BB ratio across 103 innings (17 starts) into a road matchup on Saturday against the division-rival Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:51 pm
    • Luis Medina completes six frames vs. Diamondbacks
Luis Medina allowed one run over six innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Medina traded zeroes with Arizona starter Brandon Pfaadt for a couple frames at the outset of the contest before giving up a run-scoring single to Christian Walker in the fourth inning. He nearly touched triple-digits with his four-seam fastball, and also piled up an impressive 14 swinging strikes, finishing with a strong 33 percent CSW. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has shown some flashes of big-time potential, but has been really inconsistent from a run-prevention standpoint since making his season debut back on June 2. He’ll bring a lackluster 5.63 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 17/12 K/BB ratio across 24 innings (five starts) into a challenging home outing on Saturday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:50 pm
