    • Mariners still await results of Andrés Muñoz’ MRI
The Mariners are still awaiting the results of the MRI exam on the injured back of right-hander Andrés Muñoz.

Advice: The Mariners have yet to make a roster move prior to Wednesday’s game against the Athletics and Muñoz was with the rest of the M’s relievers in the bullpen during warmups, though he did not throw. If a save situation should arise while Muñoz is sidelined, Ryne Stanek looks like the most likely candidate to fill that role. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:58 pm
    • Royals-Guardians postponed
Singer and the Royals won't play the Guardians on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Cleveland.

Advice: The Royals and Guardians will make up the postponed game as part of a split doubleheader Aug. 26 After missing his previous turn through the rotation last Thursday due to an illness, Singer was cleared to start Wednesday, but he looks like he'll have to wait until Thursday's series finale with the Guardians to make his return to the rotation. • Gerrit Cole’s rehab assignment to continue
Gerrit Cole will require “at least a couple of more” rehab starts before coming off the injured list, according to manager Aaron Boone.

Advice: This was a given, but we’ll run with it anyway. Cole threw 45 pitches in 3 1/3 scoreless innings for Double-A Somerset on Tuesday. He should come in closer to 60 pitches next time out. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:59 pm

    • Excels in first rehab start
Cole (elbow) completed 3.1 scoreless innings in a minor-league rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday, allowing two hits and striking out five batters.

Advice: In the first of what is expected to be multiple rehab outings, Cole threw 45 pitches and hit 97 miles per hour on the radar gun, per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic. The veteran hurler surrendered a single to the first batter he faced but yielded just one more hit over the remainder of his outing. The beginning of Cole's rehab stint couldn't have gone much better, but he's still expected to need at least a couple more appearances in the minors before he's ready to join the Yankees rotation. If he doesn't experience any setbacks, the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner could make his season debut for the big club in the latter half of June. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:28 pm

    • Dealing with back injury
Munoz has been dealing with a lower-back injury over the past few weeks and aggravated the injury during his collision with Oakland's Max Schuemann in Tuesday's 4-3 win, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. He recorded two outs and was charged with one earned run on two hits en route to collecting his fourth hold of the season.

Advice: The initial concern following Munoz's removal from Tuesday's game was with his right ankle/leg, which seemed to get pinned underneath Schuemann, but the issue now appears to be linked to the closer's ongoing back problem. Manager Scott Servais said Munoz will head in for an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of his latest flareup, at which point the Mariners will likely make a decision on whether or not the 25-year-old righty will require a trip to the injured list. Should Munoz have to miss time, Ryne Stanek would likely be the next man up for saves. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:04 pm
    • Andrés Muñoz to undergo MRI on back
The Mariners said Andrés Muñoz has been dealing with a back issue that flared up during the home plate collision during Tuesday’s game, necessitating Muñoz’s removal from the game.

Advice: Apparently, this has been ongoing for a couple of weeks, but this is the first time the Mariners have expressed concern. He’s expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday to see if there’s something significant going on in there. Ryne Stanek is probably worth picking up for mixed leaguers in need of saves. • Up to seven saves
Fairbanks earned the save in Tuesday's 9-5 win over Miami, striking out a pair in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Phil Maton originally got the call in the ninth with Tampa Bay up by four runs. However, he'd allow the Marlins to load the bases on three straight singles, forcing the Rays to turn to Fairbanks, who proceeded to strike out Bryan De La Cruz and Jake Burger before coaxing a game-ending groundout from Josh Bell. It was an impressive performance from the 30-year-old right-hander, who hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 11 innings. Overall, Fairbanks is 7-for-8 in save chances with a 3.50 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 18 innings this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:58 pm

    • Exits following collision
Munoz was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics with an apparent injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Munoz collided with Max Schuemann while covering home plate following a wild pitch, appearing to get his right ankle/leg caught underneath the sliding Schuemann. After throwing a warmup pitch, the right-handed reliever was taken out of the game, though he was able to head into the Mariners' clubhouse under his own power. An update on the severity of Munoz's injury should come before Wednesday's game. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:33 pm
    • Andrés Muñoz exits with apparent leg injury
Andrés Muñoz left Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning after a collision at home plate.

Advice: Muñoz appeared to injure his right leg while trying to make a play after a wild pitch. He felt well enough to attempt a warmup pitch afterwards, but he didn’t fully extend on the leg and the decision was made to lift him from the game. Hopefully, this will just be a day-to-day injury. Tayler Saucedo wound up with the save after Muñoz exited tonight, but Ryne Stanek would be the favorite for saves if Muñoz lands on the IL. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:30 pm
