      Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

      Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend.     • Jeimer Candelario homers in win over Brewers
      Jeimer Candelario delivered a two-run homer and a double Friday as the Reds edged the Brewers 6-5.

      Hunter Greene threw five innings of two-run ball against the Brewers on Friday.

      Advice: Greene sported some of his best velocity of the year tonight, but he walked five and gave up a homer to William Contreras, leading to the early exit.       Advice: Perez hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead, but his knee caused him to come out of the game during the eighth. It's unclear how severe the backstop's injury is, but the Royals should know more before Saturday's contest.       Greene (5-2) allowed two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over the Brewers.

      Advice: Greene coughed up a solo homer to William Contreras in the third before Milwaukee scratched across another run in the fifth. Greene generated 14 swinging strikes but struggled with his command, matching his season high with five walks. He needed 105 pitches to complete five frames.       Advice: Riley hit an RBI double in the first inning before hammering a two-run homer in the second. It was just his fourth homer of the year and first since May 3, snapping a 23-game drought.       J.D. Martinez went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and two RBI on Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Martinez’s double was the extent of the Mets’ damage against Matt Waldron and offense in general on Friday.       Kevin Gausman lost to the Guardians after allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings on Friday.

      Advice: Gausman’s velocity was well down for a second straight start tonight, even though he was working with an extra day off. It’s a definite cause for concern at this point; there’d be much more reason to expect Gausman to bounce back while throwing 94 mph than there is while he’s throwing 92.       Austin Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

      Advice: Finally, some signs of life from Riley. His home run was hammered 107.3 MPH and soared 422 feet. All three of his batted balls were hit at least 104 MPH and this feels like it could be the end of Riley’s prolonged cold start this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:04 pm
