    • Two hits, stolen base in win
Marte went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's victory over the Dodgers.

Advice: Marte singled home Corbin Carroll in the top of the fifth to extend Arizona's lead to two runs before also going on to swipe his fourth bag of the season and first since June 11 against the Angels. The second baseman tallied two knocks on the night and has now posted multiple hits in four of his last seven contests. Marte has also hit safely in three straight and in six of his last seven. • Contreras has two hits in loss to Rockies Thursday
William Contreras went 2-for-5 against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Contreras enjoyed his time in Colorado. He went 8-for-19 (.421) with a home run and a double in the four game series at Coors Field. The 26-year-old All-Star catcher is hitting .298 with an .804 OPS on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:04 pm
    • Picks up seventh win
King (7-5) picked up the win Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks against the Rangers. He struck out five.

Advice: King held the Rangers scoreless through five, then was removed after allowing two batters to reach base with one out in the sixth, eventually resulting in one earned run against. It's the sixth time in his last eight starts that King has allowed one earned run or fewer and the 10th such outing this season. Over his last eight outings, King has tossed 44 innings with a 2.45 ERA and 53 strikeouts. His next opportunity to toe the rubber is scheduled to come at home against the Mariners next week. • Michael King shuts down Rangers over 5 1/3 in win
Michael King struck out five and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings on Thursday in a win over the Rangers.

Advice: King generated 13 swinging strikes, although just a pair of them came on his four-seam fastball, as he finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. A sixth-inning single from Wyatt Langford was responsible for the lone tally against him in a low-scoring pitcher’s duel at Globe Life Field. The 29-year-old former reliever will bring a strong 3.51 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 120/41 K/BB ratio across 105 innings (19 appearances, 18 starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Mariners in his final outing prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Thomson: Schwaber could return on Tuesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said “it’s possible” that Kyle Schwarber (groin) could return on Tuesday when the Phillies begin their series against the Dodgers.

Advice: Schwarber is already running at 90% on the field and has not yet been on the IL for a week, so he likely wouldn’t need any rehab assignment if he progresses quickly. There are a few days to go, but it sounds like we might get a minimum stay for Schwarber on the IL. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:23 pm

    • Luis Gil has been struggling with release point
According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Luis Gil’s recent struggles could be impacted by an inconsistent release point.

Advice: Boone said that the Yankees have noticed that Gil’s recent point has been inconsistent of late. That could be tied to fatigue since he’s pitching more innings than he ever has before or it could simply be a mechanical issue with an easy fix. The inconsistent release point could also be leading Gil to tip some of his pitches, which might provide more context to why the Orioles were able to pounce on his fastball so much in his recent start. It should also be noted that Gil is making many non-competitive pitches and leaving pitches over the heart of the plate, so the release point isn’t the only issue to be fixed, but it might be one that can be addressed soon. • Jake Irvin dominates Mets in win
Jake Irvin threw eight scoreless innings in a win over the Mets on Thursday, allowing just one hit and striking out eight.

Advice: It was sheer dominance from Irvin, who allowed a single to Jeff McNeil and nothing else. His curveball provided its typical strong results, and the trio of fastballs did their part as Irvin induced 15 whiffs on 47 swings for a 32 percent whiff rate and 38 percent CSW on the day. He now has a 2.80 ERA in what has been a breakout season and will look to keep that going next week against these same Mets. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:44 am

    • Slugs 19th homer Wednesday
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Arizona on Wednesday.

Advice: The Dodgers scored all their runs in the first inning, and their final tally came on Hernandez's solo shot. The long ball was his 19th of the campaign, putting the veteran outfielder one home run away from reaching the 20-homer mark for the sixth straight full season (he hit 16 during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign). Hernandez is on pace to challenge his career-best marks of 32 home runs and 116 RBI, which he established with Toronto in 2021. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 am
    • Has career day vs Mets
Irvin (7-6) earned the win Thursday against the Mets. He allowed one hit and one walk over eight scoreless innings with eight strikeouts.

Advice: Irvin was brilliant Thursday as he threw a career-high eight innings to grab his seventh win. After giving up a one-out single to Jeff McNeil in the third, Irvin went on to retire the final 17 batters he faced. He became the first Nationals pitcher to throw eight shutout innings since Joe Ross in June 2021. The 27-year-old has registered a quality start in eight of his last nine appearances. He is making a case for a spot in the All-Star Game with his 2.80 ERA, which is ranked 10th in the majors. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 am
